Egon (281), Gothenburg, Sweden Mar 2, 2008 Bottle. Light yellow with large white head.Fresh, nice aroma but too thin. Maybe some citrus, yeast? Nice beer in the summer but too thin for me.
Gary__ (38), London, Greater London, England Jul 26, 2008 It is interesting to note this beer comes in corked 750ml bottles & shiney silver cans.I don’t know what the point is but its a good contrast at least or something. The cork tried to kill me. Ok big props on how well they hide the booze in this. This beer will get you wasted with its unassuming character .I got vanilla and herbs with some low hop tangz in the flavour assesment .Looks like a lager, just like all these damn things. I read somewhere that Biere de Garde’s can be either ale or lager as it aint really a style-so there you go.Who the hell knows what this is. sebletitje (147), Tampa, Florida, USA Jul 20, 2008 Bottle courtesy of Tony at OTH.
Pours golden blonde, thick white head.
Aroma is malty and yeasty for a dry finish. Not my favorite offering from this brewery. Would love to try it again. The_Beer_God (2804), Newport News, Virginia, USA Jul 19, 2008 Bottle - 750mL - corked and caged. Pours a soft amber. Small white head forms. Aroma is soft peppery spice, earthy and spicy hops, yeast and some musty and dusty notes. There’s touches of caramel and grains as well. Taste is spicy and lightly herbal with more earthy and spicy hops, some lightly floral hops and light caramel. There’s some grain and yeast as well, but it gets interesting as some Asian food-like flavors begin to appear. So much so that I think this would pair very well with Asian food. Body is light-medium, lively and has a somewhat dense carbonation. Finishes with more spicy notes, caramel, Asian food, grasses, floral notes and yeast. MakeItDrinkIt (50), Portland, Oregon, USA Jul 14, 2008 Crystal clear golden color with thin white head. Aroma is Belgian spicy yeast - slightly sweet, a touch floral. Flavor is spicy - maybe some Saaz hops? Fairly dry, decent hop bitter but overall very well balanced witha big malt presence. Finish is fairly dry, but not crisp. Some notes of vanilla and honey also present. BuckeyeBoy (1065), Boise, Idaho, USA Jul 10, 2008 Bottle Pours out a gold topped with a white head. Aroma of malts and light fruit. Tast of light malts some fruit sweetness and a little spice.
