2.5 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 10/20 Papsoe (22983) - Frederiksberg, DENMARK - MAY 15, 2005
UPDATED: JUL 22, 2005 (Bottle 25 cl) Beautiful amber colour, although the label rather confusingly claims that this beer is "light as a pilsener". I mean, whats the point in producing an amber if you’d rather it looked like a pils? Anyways, De Smedt didn’t succeed - this is an archetypical "Amber" or "Speciale" in the same vein as De Koninck or Palm. Small, creamy head. Some caramel sweetness balanced by some hoppiness. High carbonation. 120305 and 111199
2 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 3/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 8/20 Kinnaj15 (275) - Copenhagen, DENMARK - APR 29, 2005

UPDATED: MAY 4, 2006 Bottle. (Label says Cabbac Speciale Amber). Sourish, bitter hop aroma. Dark amber colour. Caramel, spice hints. Quite boring, though. Aftertaste is yeasty and a bit like cheap lager.
1.4 AROMA 3/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 2/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 3/20 Emil (6070) - Copenhagen, DENMARK - APR 3, 2005

2.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 10/20 diabel (1538) - Aarschot, BELGIUM - NOV 11, 2003
UPDATED: JUN 16, 2005 Bottle - in a side-by-side tasting with Op-Ale (wiich I heard of as being the same beer as this one Clear, amber body. Moslty lasting lightly brown head. Fair lace. Nose of yeats (light - dough) and hops (moderately - flowers) Lightly bitter, lightly sweet initial flavour. Lightly bitter finish. Slightly watery. Result of the side-by-side: the beers aren’t exactly the same. They are very similar, but the GB beer is a little bit more watery.
1.7 AROMA 3/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 3/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 6/20 OlJuntan64 (1266) - Perth, AUSTRALIA - JUN 13, 2002
Typical bulk brew for Belgian supermarket chain GB. Amber copper clear with medium small white head. Faint hops, malt, acrylic plastic and sour milk aromas. Weak non-descript watery body. Bland mild bitter and some malt flavours with that plastic thing coming through at the end again. Fortunately they come in 250 cc bottles and I only bought one.
