33cl bottle. Murky deep brown color with a small head. Boozy mint aroma, almost like peppermint schnapps, but the flavor has decidedly more chocolate and less spice. Boozy and moderately sweet up front with a distinct coffee and dried fruit finish. Medium bodied with medium carbonation. Overal like a mint-chocolate shake or something. Interesting but I’m not a huge fan.

Bottle 75cl, a cloudy amber beer with a huge head. Nose is intense on ginger. Aroma is spicy and caramel like, medium sweet, cardamom and anise notes, bit of licorice, ginger, slightly hopy at the finish, slight chocolate notes.

750 ml bottle poured a clear reddish amber with a lasting amber head. Aromas of yeast, cinnamon, cookie, nutmeg and fruittiness. Palate was light to medium bodied and crisp. Flavors of cookie, yeast, nutmeg, cinnamon and light fruittiness with a crisp lingering spiced finish.

Shared bottle at Sigmunds, thanks. Pours clear dark amber with a small of-white head. Aroma is sweet malty and vinous. Taste is sweet malty, nearly cloying with some spicy notes, dark fruits and yeast. Full bodied. Nice -

330 ml bottle, from Ølbutikken, Copenhagen. ABV is 8%. Copper colour, clear first, hazy when the yeast is poured in. Large off-white head. Moderate but nice aroma, hints of spices and brown kandij sugar. Nice enough to drink, malts, caramel, a little spice. Okay.

Bottle from Artisanales Bières Belges, Crissier, Switzerland
As soon as opened the bottle starts gushing quickly; only half of the bottle contant reaches the glass, with a cloudy dark amber color. Medium intensity for the caramel aroma, while the caramel flavor is stronger; there is enough sweetness to make a round body, some candi sugar, too much carbonation, and a delicate spicy touch. The final has some light chocolate too. Quite good.
Earlier Rating: 1/20/2008 Total Score: 3.3
Nice red-amber color; big head. The malty aroma has a fruity touch. The flavor is basically caramel, a dark and quite bitter quality. Ordinary.

330 ml bottle (bb 09/2013) from a Belgian Christmas Sampler Pack at Bevmo Salinas. Nose is caramel, cloves, yeast, and a hint of red wine. Very lightly hazy copper with a medium beige head. Flavor is a bit vegetal, with bitter, and caramel notes. Not a great BSA!

Was ABT beer of the month in december 2010. Had it from tap. Nice winterbeer. Tastes a bit better than it smells. Not too hard to drink.
