For more than a century, Saison Voisin was beloved in the famous Hainaut region of Belgium until, in 1989, Leon Voisin closed the little brewery where it was made. The Brasserie des Géants, or ’Giants Brewery’, revived this rustic and historic ale with Monsieur Voisin’s blessing in the year 2001, using an original recipe from 1884. It is light on the tongue and refreshingly fruity and bitter, as a true saison should be.

330 ml bottle. L031. BB 07/2015. From belgianbeerfactory.com. Dark reddish brown colour with a small white head. Yeast, malt, rubber and berries in the aroma. The flavour is berries, malt, yeast and rubber. No good saison. Or is this saison as the label also says Ambrée... ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Bottle: Served in a Chouffe glass: Very big and thick white foamy head, disappears really slowly. Cloudy to hazy orange colored body. Aroma of pils malts, glue, yeast, some stingy orange and stingy apricot, light dust and some stingy grainy wood. Flavours of wood, yeast, dust, fruity, orange, citrus, stone, earth, grains, bitter, herbs, way better than the aroma! Aftertaste is bitter, yeasty, light fruity, herbal and some grains. Medium carbo, creamy mouthfeel, medium bodied and a creamy texture. Aroma is not much but the taste is good!
