3.2 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
(Bottle, 0.33 l, at Mallaskukko, 20121020) The beer poured amber and clear. Its head was small and white. Aroma had fruitiness, spices and malts. Palate was medium bodied and dry with medium carbonation. Flavours were spices, fruitiness, malts, yeast, grass and bitterness. Aftertaste was spicy and bitter. The taste and the aroma were appropriate for a saison but the finish was a bit too harsh.

3.3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20
Amber colored pour with an off-white head. Nose is quite hoppy with a lot of floral and citrus peel notes. A mild pine aroma, some bread and toasted malt sweetness, and a bit of yeast. The flavor is also quite hoppy. Mild bitterness, some pine, a bit of citrus, and lots of floral hops. There’s a nice sweetness of bread and toasted malt. No real yeast presence on the flavor. Kind of an odd saison.

3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
33cl Bottle from De Bierkoning, ABV 5%. Clear amber colour, fluffy off-white head. Aroma of bitter walnuts, old hops, light fruity. Flavour is light malty, nutty, light floral, bit of caramel, firm dry hoppy bitterness, bitter finish. Light bodied, quite dry, straightforward. I actually quite liked this, it reminds me of Orval without the Brettanomyces.

2.9 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 10/20
Bottle. Copper orange, with sediment in bottle. Nose has dried fruit, hay, grass, malts. Body is medium/light, crackers- like maltyness, a bit tart. Feels a bit weak and lacking character.

2.9 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20
I found a saison a few of my friends had not reviewed. Unfortunately, it was not one of the better examples of the style.
The appearance is orange with a thick, white head that displays lasting retention and leaves ample lacing in its wake.
The aroma is floral, zesty, and spicy with some bready malt scents.
The flavor is a little soapy. Huh. Not digging that. Additionally, the yeast presence I look forward to in a saison is rather lacking here. For a saison, the beer is sweeter than I accustomed to. If anything, I would expect funk and/or yeast in lieu of sweetness.
This was mediocre. I don’t see myself having this one again.

3.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
A unique, refreshing Saison. Pours a brown cloudy with white head. Much darker then your regular Saison. Smells lightly fruity. Tastes like green apples. Almost like a light Lambic.
