3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Chestnut brown body. Large light brown head with big bubbles mounting on the glass. Light aroma with slightly overpowered yeast. Dusty yeast, nutmeg, caramel and banana esters makes their way up the nostrils after a few tries. Moderately sweet and tart on the tongue. Lively carbonation, medium bodied. Fruity malt and spicy herbal tones emane (banana, dried leaves, grapes, almond, chocolate, berries), but remain always hidden by the excessive yeast flavor which brings a mild acid slice in the honest bitter finish that doesn’t seem too clean. Good for yeast lovers.

4.1 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 18/20
Beautiful brown color, deep yet brite. Nice thin head that leaves a thin belgian lace to the finish. The aroma is faint yet reflects roasted malts and rich caramel notes. The flavor is pronunced and rich however, not overwhelming. Light bodied, just the right amount of bitterness, for a clean refreshing very drinkable brown ale.

3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
(Bottled, 0.75l, BBE 2007) Dark red/amber color with large, tight and foamy, slightly off-white head. Slightly sweet and sour, malty and fruity aroma. Fizzily-carbonated, but still very balanced and quite full-bodied palate. A very easily drinkable and pleasant-tasting bruin with well-balaced sweetness.

3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Tap, ZBF 2004. Deep chestnut, poor shortlived white head and good condition.Malty aromas with hints of roast barley and berries. Quite dry in the mouth despite being malty with chocolate and roasted notes and some caramel lingering into the finish.

2.9 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20
Dark brown, amber shine; fluffy, dense brown head. Creamy , slightly woody nose; sweetish, shrubs. Bitter-woody taste, burnt malts, faint blackcurrant leaves, spicey finish, becomes almondy and even chocolatey warming up. Fairly well-bodied. Bitterness is a fair bit exaggerated, and harsh, unpleasant. I'm not impressed.

Nice dark colored beer, brewed just below Maastricht in Belgium.
Long aftertaste that all what remains of my notes of St.Niklaas 2004, and with the star which means for me a must have in my bar this year on tap.

3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Ligthly malty, lightly yeasty aroma. Light brown head, which fully diminishes and is excellent lacing. Lightly sweet, lightly bitter initial flavour, moderately bitter (short) finish.

1.9 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 3/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 6/20
dark brown colour with a giant head leaving a nice lacing, chaotic nose of bread, chocolate and anise, foamy mouthfeel, some sourness, short maltiness which leaves a bready and flat finish and this unpleasant sourness - a failure like the other beers I got from this brewery
