Bottle. Cake dough and some spice in the nose. Light brown color. Some fuzzy sort of fruitiness, maybe dates and prunes, and some oxidation. Ends up fizzy and lightly bitter. Mild, pleasant, and undistinguished. A fairly uninteresting dubbel.

330 ml bottle from Premier Wine and Spirits. Pours a murky dark orangey brown with good-sized light tan head. Aroma is gentle dark fruits, toffee and hints of spice. Flavour is quite fruity with some dark, gently sour dried fruit and stewed apple, brown sugar, toffee and some spicy notes. Lively carbonation. Nice.

Brune acajou, effervescence moyenne, col crémeux-nuageux. De bons malts torréfiés, une présence de fruits foncés, quelques notes de réglisse pour l’amertume et un petite quelque chose en plus font de l’Urchon une très bonne brune!

Brown beer with a white head. Aroma with caramel flavour is the same. Special, not bad but not really good either. (Bottle 33cl)

330ml bottle. Cloudy brown pour with some red highlights and a persistent beige head. Dark fruit and rum cake on the nose with a healthy spice note. Lots of brown sugar and fruit on the palate. Finishes a little warm.

Dark amber body with creamy large tan head, looking very nice. Interesting aroma that mixes bread, cacao, woody hops and peanut cookies. Yes, peanut butter even. Probably the roasted barley malts? Test is slightly more normal with roasted yet malts bringing in toffee. Rich active Belgian yeast to go with this, brown sugar to top it off yet no real alcohol recognisable. Ending is shorter than expected. Complex enough and for sweet dark yet not too alcoholic ale it’s very decent. Fuller than most dubbels. (33cl bottle from Bierparadijs)
