Geary’s Autumn Ale is a faithful interpretation of the classic brown ales of Great Britain. With a deep auburn color and a subtle nut-like flavor, Geary’s Autumn Ale is the perfect choice as the seasons change.
Ingredients: Two row English malt (clarity, crystal, chocolate and wheat); Cascade, Golding & Fuggle hops.

12oz bottle in a shaker. Pours reddish brown with a lacy, cream-colored head. Aroma of dark malts, a little chocolate, some floral/slightly citrusy hops, and a little tartness. Flavor about the same. The bottle might be a little old. Average texture. A decent beer.

UPDATED: JAN 30, 2012 Geary’s Autumn is the shade of grade B syrup and has a settled out but persistent head. The beer has a sweet brown sugar and caramel scent that reflects the overall flavor. Some almond hint as well.Slightly bitter, but aftertaste is still malt. Could have fuller body, does not lace.

another solid beer from Geary’s. Almost black in color, actually looks like a baltic porter, but smells like the bread and butter malts, taste is pretty similar but with a little hop spice in the back end. Very enjoyable but could do with a little something extra that makes it unique.

Sweet taste of fall! Clear brown color with a small white head. Sweet beginning with a dryish maple finish.

tap at a pizza place in Portland - Pours amber with a light tan head and good lacing. The aroma is mild caramel malt. It tastes of toasted caramel malt, mostly sweet, with some good mild bitterness and toasty character in the finish of this well made medium bodied brown ale.

Location: Draft at RnH, 2/19/11

Aroma: Not much going on aroma-wise, light malty notes
Appearance: It pours an amber color with a smallish head
Flavor: The taste has some caramel/toffee, touch of yeast
Palate: The body is slightly sticky, a touch watery, nothing special
Overall Impression: Overall, this stuff wasn’t particularly exciting at all. Another fairly unimpressive offering from Gearys. At this point I really shouldn’t be disappointed.

Draft. Pours amber with an off white head. Lightly sweet malt aroma, with some earthy and dirty notes. The flavor has some sweet toffee and some dirty diacetyl like notes. Not that good.

Pours clear and ruby colored over an off-white head. The aroma is sweet and hoppy, though not intensely of either. The medium bodied liquor is of medium intensity, drinkable and bitter-sweet with caramel dominant. Lovely, mild-mannered brown ale; very sessionable.
