COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Geary’s Autumn Ale is a faithful interpretation of the classic brown ales of Great Britain. With a deep auburn color and a subtle nut-like flavor, Geary’s Autumn Ale is the perfect choice as the seasons change.
Ingredients: Two row English malt (clarity, crystal, chocolate and wheat); Cascade, Golding & Fuggle hops.

Poured a reddish color with thin tan head. Sweet caramel nutty flavor with a hint of chocolate and also a little bit of hops thrown in.

On draught in Camden and in the bottle. Light brown color, very clear, nice head. Nice caramel aroma with a bit of hops. The flavor is delicious! The nuttiness along with the sweetness and bitterness are an excellent combination. It has some fruitiness but again it balances with the nuttiness and bitterness. I can drink this all night long. The light to medium body delivers flavor and drinkability. Maine is a beautiful place and everyone should go there to drink this beer and relax. Great brewing Geary’s!

This was tried due to my being a fan of Geary’s Winter Ale unfortunately it did not offer the same enjoyment. A beer I can easily pass on.

Pours a very nice dark brown, with a white head. Kind of nutty and malty, metallic aftertaste. Not bad.

Bottle 08. Deep brown pour with a sweet nose. Nice east drinking beer that offers good malt flavor without pallete fatiuge. Will get another 6 of this sometime soon.

A: Poured with a very small, light brown head. Body is brown, but actually looks more like a deep ruby color when held to the light. Completely clear. S: Nice aroma of mostly sweet malt; the caramel seems to be quite heavy. Maybe a little bit of chocolate coming through as well. T: Flavor is lightly sweet (again with the caramel), but it finishes slightly bitter. First few sips seemed almost harsh to me, but as it warmed up a bit it really smoothed out, and started to grow on me. Long duration for the flavor; this is a beer that stays with you. M: Light-bodied with a slightly oily texture, and average carbonation. D: By the end of the beer I decided I had enjoyed it... little skeptical at first, but as I said, it grows on you.

Cask conditioned: I had this at the Great Lost Bear in Portland in September of ’06. Dark amber in color. Thick but short tan head. Malty flavors with an average taste overall. This beer is good, but not mind-blowing, even in its cask-conditioned state. Appropriate mouthfeel for an autumn ale. Mildly hoppy aftertates. Nice aroma.

Nice malt aroma with a hint of spice and poured a medium clear brown color. Good malted blend across tongue with a hop zest finish. I managed a single sample but won’t hesitate to purchase the twelve-pack to review my findings!

A very nice ale, as usual, from Geary’s. Characteristics of a nut brown ale, and very enjoyable.
