(Draft @Whig & Courier)Clear, reddish appearance with great aroma of wheat & light fruits. Semi sweet, finishes a little bitter. Could have been bolder flavor & ABV for a 20th anniversary. Overall.pretty good!

(Draft @ Damariscotta River Grill) Clear and slightly reddish amber-gold body with an off-white head. Fairly effervescent. Light aroma of wheat malt and hint of light fruit and flowers. Mouthfeel light, fairly smooth, a little tingly. Some sloppy rings of lace. Flavor is kind of sweet and wheaty with a slight bit of fruit and flowers overlaying. Finishes with some bitterness. Lots of filtration means not alot of flavor but not a bad summer beer. Hoping for something bigger and better for the next and last of the 20th Anniv. series however.

Almost an amber color, to the body, though just shy of that and more a lighter copper, with some soft peach tones. Bubbles rise of lazily in the liquid and form a one-finger high, white head which recedes to cover/ring with little/no lacing. True to its name, there is a high clarity.
Very light banana in the nose, softened/sweetened by some fuzzy bubble gum and just a tinge of apple. Rather vacant hops suggest a touch of straw, but it is lost in the pils malt notes of honey. Rather weak strength in the aroma, which seems to be typical of what I’ve had so far in this style. No alcohol noted, but just a little touch of stale, powdery sweetness, no doubt from the filtration.
Soft honey and powdered sugar in the flavor, are mitigated by rather high amounts of carbonation, lending to drinkability, but detracting from the overall melding of flavors. Light minerals and dusty, dry hops do provide some crispness, but it’s up against a heavy amount of carbonation and water. Pears, apples, bananas, are planted throughout the malt. No real flaws, other than to call the filtered texture and somewhat stale overall sense of the beer a "flaw". But that’s not a criticism of Gearys, just an inherent flaw in the style (kind of like Girardin White label). Still, there is enough comfort provided by the malt to keep it refreshing, in concert with the bubbly carbonation.

Draft @ Great Lost Bear in Portland - Poured a clear dark amber in color with a small whitish head. Aroma was yeasty with some spicy hops. Flavor was slightly hoppy and nicely bitter with the bready yeasts in dominance. A bit too watery, but this does not detract too much from the experience. An interesting beer...

My first Kristall Weizen. This one is actually spelled Kristoll-Weizen by Geary’s but who’s counting. On tap at the Great Lost Bear. Aroma was pretty mild and subdued a little bit of spicy hop punch with some malt notes. The appearance was clear gold with a thin white head. Palate was light and refreshing. Flavors were some hoppy notes, new hops to me at least when i was tasting, and now that I see the names I know that i haven’t had either type before. It’s light and refreshing, but not really different enough to be above other average brews.
