COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Our flagship pale is a classic British pale ale with a nod to the legendary beers of Burton-on-Trent. Copper-colored, dry, clean and crisp with lots of late hope taste in an appetizing complex with ale fruitiness from imported Hampshire yeast.
Ingredients: Two row English malt (pale, crystal and chocolate); Cascade, Mt Hood, Tettnang and Fuggle Hops.

Light copper color, head dissipates quickly, spicy dusty hop taste that is only somewhat bitter.

It pours a dark amber color with almost no head, but the traces that are visible are white. Virtually no lacing, of course. Aroma is of light bread malts. Initial taste is lightly sweet, taking a turn for the bitter as it finishes moderately bitter with an average duration. Light to medium on the mouth, it is both watery and oily with lively carbonation. Nothing wowing. Reviewed on September 28th, 2006.

Bottle. Light malt and hops aroma. Clear amber with small but lasting head. Light malt with moderate orange hops finish. Nice session beer.

Bottle, from mug. Clear golden amber body; frothy, dissipating white head; no lacing to speak of. Aroma of caramel, some toasted character, an earthy note and a touch of diacetyl -- all are pretty tame. Mouthfeel is light, but the hops give it a very slight oily texture; carbonation is fairly active. Flavor is bitter up front, sweet in the back. The finish is rather astringent; at first I thought it was alcohol, but this beer is only 4.5%. As with every Geary’s brew I’ve tried, it’s not bad, but it’s nothing special. Drank another from the bottle, and preferred it.

12 oz. bottle. Pours a clear copper orange with a moderate head that lasted through most of the glass. Light, indistinct aroma. Hops and malt are both understated in the flavor. Well balanced. What I liked about this beer is that it doesn’t try to knock you over with excessive hops or other funky gimmicks. This is a basic English Pale Ale that is very easy going and a pleasure to drink.

Pours a dull amber brown into the glass, with a completely nitrous-induced head with no real retentiveness and minor lace. The nose is faint, but of afar caramel malts and maybe some syrup. Sour citrus and medicinal hops to the flavor palate. The finish lingers a bit, but the medicinal astringency does leave before becoming intrusive, turning into a biscuity effervescence. This isn’t the greatest brew, to be honest. The mouthfeel is medium-light and a bit hollow. There’s just not a lot of complexities that work well together; almost like it’s fighting against itself. Sorry.

Pours amber into a shaker. Fluffy off-white micro head with good retention leaves slight sheet lacing as it slowly recedes. Malt aromas. Soft with lasting sour malt finish that turns hoppy long after initial finish.

Soft aromas of British hops with a good balance of malt mixed in. This is a mild beer, to be sure, but complex fruit flavors save it from boredom. Thin palate is a big drawback. There is no bittering hop bite here. A bit sweet.
