not much to drink, but it works as a pure social drinking expirence. malty and low on hops but it still has some character that makes it worth a try.

Rather malty nose, sweetish. Dusty and grassy hops - a bit yeasty. This is not the most convincing pale ale I’ve come across - and the competition is fierce!

Sep 24, 2008 Draught in Fryeburg, ME. It was a fine English pale ale but just a little bland overall. Easy to drink and enjoyable but nothing to write home about.

Sep 15, 2008 Aroma is earthy, grassy hops. Pours clear copper color with a small white head. Taste is simple and a bit bland, but it is still clean and refreshing. Earthy hop flavors dominate and make this an accurate example of Brittish-style hoppy beers. Finish is not very bitter and the mouthfeel is surprisingly smooth.

Sep 9, 2008 Bottle. Pours amber with an off white head. Malty aroma, a bit earthy as well. The flavor is pretty bland, with a bit of grain and a touch of hops in the finish.

Aug 31, 2008 (Bottle). Sweet malty aroma, and some tartness. Clear copper color with a substantial off-white head. Flavor is far less citrusy than an IPA, or even an American Pale. Instead, there’s a more malty breadiness, combined with subtle ripe fruits. Finish has just a touch of hoppy bitterness. Altogether, this was a pleasant surprise.
