COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Our flagship pale is a classic British pale ale with a nod to the legendary beers of Burton-on-Trent. Copper-colored, dry, clean and crisp with lots of late hope taste in an appetizing complex with ale fruitiness from imported Hampshire yeast.
Ingredients: Two row English malt (pale, crystal and chocolate); Cascade, Mt Hood, Tettnang and Fuggle Hops.

On tap. Light "beer" aroma. Dark gold with and off white head that dissapates quickly. Pleasing hop blend fads to a toasty malt flavor. Mouth feel is lightly sticky and typical for a malty beer. This beer is very easy to drink and goes well with most "pub" fare.

Tap at a bar in Boothbay. Run of the mill pale ale. Dry herbal hops and doughy malt flavor. Its not.

(Bottle) A big disappointment and my first sample from this brewer. Flavor was stale and bitter, lacking the character of the EPA. Perhaps and bad bottle.

Pours copper with medium tan head. Nose is caramel and bubble gum. Aromas are toasted malts, caramel with a hint if bubble gum. Few herbal hops, but hop is quite absent for a pale ale. Dry toasty finish. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

12oz bottle from a Hannaford Supermarket in Kennebunk, ME. Amber with a thin off-white head; malty aroma; malty taste with a touch of caramel and estery fruit; and a biscuity finish. Fairly close to the Burton style - well Bass at least.

12 oz bottle into a pint glass. A: Pours a clear copper color. The head is a one finger off-white shade. Itís actually pretty uniform in texture - thick, too. Retention is pretty solid and lacing is minor. S: Itís mainly toasted malts on the forefront, with a fruity undercurrent (think stone fruit). Slight hints of diacetyl are also present. As it sits in the glass, it shows off more fruit notes. Not bad, not bad at all. T: Again, toasted is a decent word to describe the flavor profile. Some nondescript fruit esters congeal at the middle of the palate before an upsurge of (malt) bitterness finishes this off. The aforementioned fruit notes pop up more strongly on certain sips. Itís certainly well made and balanced well - itís just not my style at all. M: I could use a bit more crisp dryness to help counteract the malty linger on the palate. The carbonation here is quite zesty, but itís not quite enough. Having said that, itís not undrinkable by any stretch - it seems to become drier as I drink more of this, in fact. O: Biases against crystal malt and English-style pale ales aside, this one does the job well. Itís richer than its low ABV would suggest, too. The old adage "itís not you, itís me" is appropriate for this one. Still, I can imagine this one being rock-solid on cask.

Bottle. Bright copper with lasting head and lace. Fruity bready aroma with a hint of hops. Malty bready grainy ripe peach fruity sweetness with mild herbal hop bitterness. Medium body. Not bad.

Nice pale ale. Wish I could try one with a nice lobster. Smooth combination of flavors and somewhat unique. Mine was from a bottle (mix & max). Would like to try this again. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

A basic beer, not well balanced. Drinkable, but not ratable, taste like a lot of the average pale ale out there.
