COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Our flagship pale is a classic British pale ale with a nod to the legendary beers of Burton-on-Trent. Copper-colored, dry, clean and crisp with lots of late hope taste in an appetizing complex with ale fruitiness from imported Hampshire yeast.
Ingredients: Two row English malt (pale, crystal and chocolate); Cascade, Mt Hood, Tettnang and Fuggle Hops.

From a 12 oz bottle Beer is light amber, clear with little head. Light carbonation and head dissipates quickly. Hoppy aromas with hint of apple. Light malt aroma and spices I can’t discern. Taste is bitter and hoppy. Hints of sour apple. Lightly malty with hints of lemon as well. Medium bodied with light hoppy aftertaste. Very smooth and drinkable but flavorful as well. Very well balanced. The best pale ale brewed in Maine and my local go-to brew. Goes anywhere with anything.

12 oz bottle. Light golden colour with a small white head. Very little lacing. Aroma and taste of hops. It is just the right amount for my taste. I really light this beer and have to find some excuse to go back to New England.

Pours a clear slightly lighter brown. Nose is a bit wood like with a slight caramel character. Flavoris smooth, but doesn’t really carry a strong profile. There are bark tones to it and a mild mature wood sweetness to it, but it never really kicks you in the mouth. This is just one of those mature beers. Nothing showy. Not trying to be outlandish. It is what it is. Feel is smooth on the liquid with a decent carbonation. Highly drinkable. Just an overall good beer. Well made and smooth.

Very strong, cloudy beer with alcohol being the predominant flavor. Very malty, like a whiskey.

one of the original east-coast pale ales that take from english-style pales and add just a little more hop aroma and a little less malty flavor. crisp, clean, and so enjoyable, a true east coast treasure that is the first step for a lot of people on their hop journey.

This is one of the few U.S. breweries whose pale ale is more inclined to the British rather than the American style. Nice malt aroma. Malt balanced at first, with the hops dominating the finish.

Light amber with the slightest chill haze. Small, foamy white head. Light carbonation. Aroma of citrus, Ringwood yeast and mild hints of spicy German hops. Mellow, oily and rich. Hoppy aftertaste with notes of citrus and florally spicy hops. Medium body. Solid balance of pale malts. Dry. Deft interplay of gentle yeasty fruitiness. Finishes fuller with more of an herbal/citrus mix. Very nice, although I question the freshness of this sample.

2004 bottle @ Dos Amigos in Belfast, ME. Pours a lovely brilliant coppery color with a small white head. Aroma of light barley, hints of light almonds, dry crisp hops. Flavor is pleasantly bitter but has an ample balance and is no acidic. While this definitely remains an English Pale Ale, it ventures slightly in to American Pale ale category, with a good amount of hops. Though they are soily, and lightly herbal almost. Malt is dry and cookie like, and provides a great balance. A wonderful, drinkable beer, medium to medium full body, no thinning.

This is my go to beer if I’m not trying anything new. It’s balanced enough to drink everywhere at anytime with anything. Easy drinking hoppy, crisp, and dry all at once. Finishes clean without a lingering aftertaste. A good choice all the time.

My sister signed me up for the ale of the month club, and this was featured once. Best damn birthday present I ever got, that’s for sure...
