COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Our flagship pale is a classic British pale ale with a nod to the legendary beers of Burton-on-Trent. Copper-colored, dry, clean and crisp with lots of late hope taste in an appetizing complex with ale fruitiness from imported Hampshire yeast.
Ingredients: Two row English malt (pale, crystal and chocolate); Cascade, Mt Hood, Tettnang and Fuggle Hops.

UPDATED: JAN 11, 2004 This has a horrible smell, almost moldy. Besides that it is pretty thin without much going on. Perhaps I got an old/bad bottle

This is not my kind of beer. Not even close to a pale ale in my opinion. Aroma is more malty than anything, but it does look nice in the glass. There isn’t much going on when you first taste it, but it ends with a bitter skunky flavor that doesn’t appeal to me. Would not drink again.

Bad bottle - I hope. Metallic, stale floral hop flavor. Finished sour. Not enjoyable.

Floral hops and some buttery diacetyl in the nose. Fairly large white head that lasts nicely on copper coloured body with lots of carbonation. Fairly neutral bitterness with some diacetyl also in the flavour. Malt character is lacking and body a bit thin. Bottle.

Rather Hoppy, agressive bitters. Strong hop aroma. Decent mouthfeel, far too hoppy and bitter to enjoy for me.

Translucent copper with some white bubbles, Medium-light body with medium-high carbonation.

Aroma: fruity esters, leafy hops, some caramel, and a touch of acetone.

Taste: harsh hops -not bitter, just dry and thorny. Also some sour minerality and faint caramel malt.

I must have had a bad six-pack.

Strong, earthy aroma. Malt to be sure, but also what seems to be an off aroma, pipe tobacco like. I hope this is not a bad bottle. Lots of sediment at the bottom of the bottle, so this is a BCA and I don’t know how well this beer was cared for at the store. (Bought as a single.) Deep caramel, copper color. LIght carbonation. Head forms, but fades fast and leaves little lacing. Taste is definitely off. Metallic, stale. Strong malt flavors are there, but masked by oxidation. Too bad, this seems like it could have been a great beer if it was fresher or in better condition.

This had the same kind of river eddy stench that was very common in New Orleans beers. What the hops couldn’t mask was just terrible.
