abcfan (161), USA Mar 13, 2008 This is not my kind of beer. Not even close to a pale ale in my opinion. Aroma is more malty than anything, but it does look nice in the glass. There isn’t much going on when you first taste it, but it ends with a bitter skunky flavor that doesn’t appeal to me. Would not drink again.

Rather malty nose, sweetish. Dusty and grassy hops - a bit yeasty. This is not the most convincing pale ale I’ve come across - and the competition is fierce! BelgianBeerGal (978), Sabbatical in Las Vegas, Nevada, USA Sep 24, 2008 Draught in Fryeburg, ME. It was a fine English pale ale but just a little bland overall. Easy to drink and enjoyable but nothing to write home about. NomDeBeer (155), Baltimore, Maryland, USA Sep 15, 2008 Aroma is earthy, grassy hops. Pours clear copper color with a small white head. Taste is simple and a bit bland, but it is still clean and refreshing. Earthy hop flavors dominate and make this an accurate example of Brittish-style hoppy beers. Finish is not very bitter and the mouthfeel is surprisingly smooth. blipp (818), Grand Island, New York, USA Sep 9, 2008 Bottle. Pours amber with an off white head. Malty aroma, a bit earthy as well. The flavor is pretty bland, with a bit of grain and a touch of hops in the finish. DrDavid (351), Johnson, Vermont, USA Aug 31, 2008 (Bottle). Sweet malty aroma, and some tartness. Clear copper color with a substantial off-white head. Flavor is far less citrusy than an IPA, or even an American Pale. Instead, there’s a more malty breadiness, combined with subtle ripe fruits. Finish has just a touch of hoppy bitterness. Altogether, this was a pleasant surprise.
