pours deep amber/red with small white head. aroma is rich caramel, a touch of earthy moss, sweetness and a bit of nuttyness. drinks with a thick body, dark caramel, moss/peat, sweet finish. pretty solid scotch ale.

12oz. Pour is deep ruby brown with a thick caramel colored head. Aromas of rasins, sweet fruits, caramel, and plum. Flavor is well balanced with smoke, earthy hops, rasin, plum, and sugars. Alcohol is hidden very well. At $5.49 a 4-pack this one is a steal.

Just the right amount of alcohol taste. Poured a clear dark brown with good tan head, bitter ending. Worth a look if you see it around.

Looks great. Smells pretty good. Tastes uh, chalky and soury. Not much of a Scotch Ale. Maybe like a Scotch Ale/Bruin de Flanders sour... Yergggh. Sorry. Not the best review. Just had after something remarkable. But still...it is not good at all. Chocolate up front, sour cherry mid, dry, sour finish. End of story. Glad I got in a trade. Probably would not buy for any reason.

Had my first one yesterday. Got a 4 pack for $3.99. Yes, that’s right... $3.99. Nice pop to the bottle. Dark pour to a tan 1 finger head. Nose was molasses and malt all the way. Some prune, little chocolate but mostly molasses. Initial taste was strong like a scotch ale should be. This ale is right in the sweet spot of the style. The taste sticks with you so it’s heavy on the tonge. Carb was a little low which was perhaps why the taste was clinging, but it might have been just that bottle. Downed the rest of the ale without much trouble - it’s a bit on the sweet side for me but excellent and for the price, it’s a flipping must have. Go buy this ALE!

first whiff reminded me of belhaven, but on taste, has a wicked kick and just enough flavour to cover that high abv. love it!
