A orange amber ale with a thin white head. Light hops with light alcohol notes. It has a citrus flavor with little hops and grin notes. A little watery.

12oz bottle. Not a bad IPA but nothing great and why do they call it winter ale? I was expecting some kind of strong spiced beer not a light colored plainer tasting one.

The color of this surprised me right away. Pretty light in color for a winter. Some moderate spice and malts. A little bittering hops too. Plain for winter beer.

12 oz bottle. Pours a gold yellow color, much lighter than I would expect a winter ale to be. Also, a small white head with no lacing. Aroma is grains with piney hops. Palate is thin with moderate carbonation. Flavor is mostly grains with corn and a hint of malt. Some hop bitterness in the finish. An alright effort from Geary’s.

Bottle courtesy of dogfish120love – thanks Brian. Pours a medium slight hazy gold with a one finger white head. The nose is grassy hops and caramel. The taste is sweet caramel malt and light pine. Light-to-medium mouth feel. Meh, drinkable.

Geary’s makes fine English style ales, so I’m assuming this is their representation of an English IPA. Very different from what you get accustomed to in the states. It is a weird brew however, I felt it came across as a shallow attempt. Medium copper color with a lasting white head and good lacing. Aromas of stale pepper, toffee and a mix of fresh vegetables along with a woody aspect. Sharp mouth feel, dry and moderately bitter. It’s fairly tame and easy drinking. Grassy hop and lemon flavors coupled with crackers, buttered biscuits, and pepper. Solid brew, but odd overall. Mild IPA no matter what side of the pond you are on.

Bottle. Pours a hazy orange body with a thin white head. Light berries, and some lightly floral hoppiness with a bitter dry grainy finish. eh.

12 ounce bottle from Beer Run in Charlottesville, VA. Pours a golden color with a 2-finger head, nice head retention and lacing. Slightly grainy aroma with some citrus and hop notes. Taste is citrus and fruity hops. Medium bodied.
