Nothing special about this beer. Not good for an intro to Gearys beers. Not sure what this is, I was hoping it was going to be like Sam Adams Winter Lager

12 ounce bottle in Duvel glass. Minimal aroma. Not sure what the hell is supposed to be going on here. Like drinking water from a rusty faucet. I might need a tetanus shot.
3.3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20 thornecb (2962) - Marblehead, Massachusetts, USA - DEC 11, 2008
Pours gold into a shaker. Head quickly recedes to nothing. Cracker and malt aromas. Dry with heavy malts. Very limited hops in the finish. I like the dryness of the Gearys ales but I would not call this an IPA. Maybe a pale ale.
3.1 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20 decaturstevo (3396) - decatur, Tennessee, USA - JUN 8, 2008
A clean golden pour. A pretty interesting spicy aroma that hints of apples. A very good finishing bitter but not much hops on the front. A thin and slightly watery offering. Not bad very nice bitter not alot of flavor but still a drinkable beer.

Taste: Toffee maltiness with a mild, restrained sweetness. A bit spice, a bit orangey. Medium hop bitterness. Floral, lightly bitter finish.
Mouthfeel: Medium-bodied. Medium carbonation. A tad watery, I must say.
Drinkability: So-so, it was a bit bland.
2.9 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 12/20 Shag (2229) - Chattanooga, Tennessee, USA - MAY 26, 2008
An orange to a copper color. The aroma is rather malty with some hints of lemons. The flavor is only slightly bitter with more malt showing up. Caramel notes and grapefruit presence. A hearty IPA dont think so, hearty har har maybe. Session drink at best.

Pours a transparent golden bronze with a thin-lacing white head. Aroma of semi-dry grainy malts with a touch of grapefruity hops. Body starts thin and mostly dry with some earthy bitterness and a drier finish. Needs more sweetness and flavor hops with less bittering hops.
