Clear dark red brown color with a average to large, frothy to creamy, good lacing, mostly to fully lasting, beige head. Aroma is moderate to heavy malty, roasted, caramel, moderate hoppy, light grass, orange - citrus. Flavor is moderate to heavy sweet and bitter with a long duration, chocolate malt, dark malt, smoke notes. Body is medium, texture is oily, carbonation is soft. [20110415]

Bottle, courtesy of fonefan. A clear, dark brown beer with a dense, dark beige to tan head. A fruity touch in the aroma, sort of unusual but pleasant, coffee, licorice and something smoked too. The flavor has licorice, roasted malts, hints of coffee, a nice hoppy bitterness and fruity touch. Full-bodied and dryish even though it’s quite sweet. Some sourness and alcohol. Overall, a pleasant and tasteful, slightly unusual, but I like it. It would be nice having it again diving deeper into it. 110415

Nero impenetrabile con schiuma abbondante, persistente, finissima e compatta. Naso intenso di malto, torrefatto e frutta sotto spirito; rabarbaro nel finale. Palato dolce che devia subito sull’amaro tutto accompagnato dal calore alcoolico; noce cioccolato e caffè nel finale. Che Porter !
