Tap (St. Urho’s Porter & Stout Days 2015)
ice milky coffe aroma, but quite gentle. Soft palate, carbonation low for forced beer. Roast tiptop, that’s nice to have on the tongue. The finish is a little dry in burntness, but some of that is hop bitterness too. Perhaps just a little too drying. But a pretty solid stout, liked it, and it’s quaffability.

(Keg at St Urho’s Pub Portteri ja Stout -päivät ’15) The beer poured black. Its head was medium sized, dense and almost white. Aroma had lactic sweetness and chocolate. Palate was medium bodied with medium carbonation. Flavours were burnt malts, lactic sweetness, coffee, chocolate and bitterness. Aftertaste was sweet, burnt and bitter. A tasty thin stout.

3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Dark brown/black, huge creamy light brown head. Ash, coffee, licorice, dry. Light to medium body, light feel, soft carbonation, dry, milk chocolate. Simple but I liked it. Sometimes result is more than the sum of its parts as is the case here. For Some reason this works surprisingly well.

33 cl bottle @ home, BBE 08/2015
Aroma has milk chocolate, some coffee, ash and toffee typical to English ales. Flavour is rather ashy with tobacco, licorice and some coffee too roasted. Feels somewhat watery. Not sure what to think of this; feels somewhat pleasant but also messy and thin.

3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
On tap @ Mad for Beer. Corpo leggero, carbonazione soft. Davvero una ottima birra!

4.2 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 17/20
Birra scura con schiuma color caffelatte. Perfetta e persistenti.
