1 AROMA 2/10 APPEARANCE 1/5 TASTE 2/10 PALATE 1/5 OVERALL 4/20 Hansen (5447) - Assentoft, DENMARK - APR 16, 2012
Nice bottle. Sake in the bottle, not so nice. White coloured and fully unclear. Has some sediments. Aroma of old rotten wood, faint pear. Flavor is moderate sweet, unpleasent. Odd sticky texture, bad. Flat.
2.9 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 12/20 Cornfield (5276) - Oak Forest, Illinois, USA - OCT 9, 2005
This is my most interesting sake experience to date. After shaking the chilled bottle as instructed, I poured out a thick, milky brew that heavily coated the sides of the glass. The aroma was rice, alcohol, and a melon-ish scent. The palate was thick and grainy with the consistency of Kaopectate. It tasted better than that. Rice, alcohol, milk, maybe a hint of citrus zest. It coated the mouth heavily with a chalky substance. I enjoyed the experience, but doubt I’ll have this again soon.

Bottled. Hot looking thin spunk appearance. Awesome legs. Green bananas in the aroma and in the flavour. Soft and creamy with nice sediment covering your tongue after swallowing. Satisfying.

3.3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20 muzzlehatch (4425) - Burlington, Vermont, USA - FEB 24, 2008
300 ml bottle from City Market in Burlington, VT (February 2008), served chilled and shaken from a White Winter Winery glass. Milky-cloudy/opaque, with just a hint of froth as it’s poured, thin white legs in the glass as it recedes.....sweet, ricey-coconut aroma, fairly simple with no hint of alcohol....the body is thick, lightly warming/alcoholic, moderately sweet with some hints of bitterness towards the finish, light toasted/burnt almond character, milky-thick at the finish....there’s a little too much "grit" in this one, and it’s a little rough and hard on the finish, but on the whole it’s pretty enjoyable and less sweet and cloying than many; somewhat better than I expected.
2.2 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 8/20 Benzai (4333) - Oirschot, NETHERLANDS - FEB 16, 2013
Sampled from bottle @ ZZT VI. Hmm...this is really weird...it looks like glue...no head...aroma has sweetness and weirdness...can’t describe the taste at all...very weird and sweet. Fun to taste once but no, I don’t think I’ll drink this more often.
2.5 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 10/20 Mora2000 (4042) - McKinney, Texas, USA - DEC 18, 2010
Ugly, milky color. Aroma and flavor are rice and almonds. Gritty texture that just doesn’t agree with me. I just don’t get nigori sakes and this one did nothing to change my mind.
3.2 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 11/20 unclemattie (3706) - Georgia, USA - JUN 4, 2007
300ml green bottle. After shaking thoroughly, it pours a creamywhite spunk looking specimen. Very thick and opaque, solid white. Has a pearl like glow on the surface, metallic looking Aroma: melon, pinapple, coconut (pina colata) apples and pears, yeast. Flavor: Pinot Gris, pinapple, alcohol. Very gritty mouthfeel is obvious A little too chalky. A quick hitter!
