Medium yellowish beige head. Clear deep dark red body with carbonation. Roasty earthy crisp bread aroma with cereal and flowers notes. Dry-sweet earthy roasty toffee taste with grainy rye crisp bread notes. Mid-bodied. Mild, soft, mealy mouthfeel. Dryish earthy roasty grainy aftertaste with dusty wooden burnt notes. Minty toffee notes, too. Lovely, vivid, complex, and highly drinkable. (0.5l bottle, Meny Strømmen Storsenter.)

Bottle shared with ClubGonzo. Has a clear reddish brown colour, and a small off-white head. Fine roasted notes in the aroma along with nuts, coffee, leather and some cocoa. The flavour stands out like a light version of the same with a small dose of vanilla. Mouth feel is watery and light, with a light bitterness. An approved bitter, but perhaps a little too light.

Light brown medium head, smells of thin coffee and caramel. Taste is like a light brown ale with sweet notes of vanilla and caramel. Aftertaste of coffee grounds. Not a bad beer considering it is a store bought beer. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Bottle from Meny Manglerud enjoyed at home
Pours brown, quite dark brown in glass, beige head. Smells of roast, dark fruits, nuts and some hops. Moderate sweet, quite fruity, some yeast and dark fruits, a touch of roast as well. Moderate bitter, earthy hops. A nice ale, i like the roasty touch and the fruity aroma. High drinkability factor too; but a bitter? not sure about that

50 cl bottle from Meny Kolsås. Pours clear deep amber with a small offwhite head. Aroma of liquorice and coffee. Malty flavor with espresso notes. Light body, light bitterness, a bit watery, and a long sticky malty after taste. A bit boring.

0.5l bottle. This is a crystal clear deep amber-red one with a small quite disappointing off-white bubbly top that quickly sticks to the sides of the glass. The aroma has tones of bitter cocoa, sweet malts, red fruits and some dark caramel. It smells quite alright this. It’s average on the carbonation and the mouthfeel is quite thin and watery. Nutty-bitter flavors with more dry cocoa powder, some watery sweet fruits and a soft earthy bitterness towards the finish. Not to impressed to be honest, but it does not taste bad in any way. Wish it was a bit more challenging. 21.02.2013

Cask (Gravity dispense) at 7th Bexley Beer Festival on 12 April 2012. Copper colour. Reddish tinge. Beige head. Excellent condition. Mellow and fruity but not too sweet. Good balance. Earthy mouthfeel. Late bitterness. Solid traditional style brown bitter.

Cask@Criterion, Leicester. Reddish black beer, the aroma is lightly hopped, and the flavour is mildly malty and hopped. Overall a nice plainly bitter, roasted, and mildly malty beer.
