Cask Handpump at the New Oxford, Salford 16/03/2007 Slightly rich aroma. Dark and a little rich on the palate with some dryness in a crisp oyster roast finish.

Cask@Criterion, Leicester. Reddish black beer, the aroma is lightly hopped, and the flavour is mildly malty and hopped. Overall a nice plainly bitter, roasted, and mildly malty beer.

Cask, Criterion, Leicester. Copper, red with a small head. Aromas are blackberry with liquorice and herbal notes. Vinous with spices. Flavours are earthy "kentish" hops with sweet berries and toffee. Dry on the finish. Some herbal notes. Decent.

Cask conditioned at The Last Drop Inn, York. Brown red with white head. I got a smokey flavour out of the roased sweet malt, a hint of bonfire, then a sweet toffee / caramel. Not exactly bitter, but reasonable and unusual.

A Valentine’s Day brew, bottled, Booths, Windermere. Peachy aroma, the flavour is dry, a hint of grassiness, with apricots coming through. I sensed a cough-mixture like flavour somwhere in there aswell. Full bodied, robust and alcoholic, tastes stronger than its 4.2% abv. Very more-ish, with a dry, yet fruity finish.

A Mes rate: cask at the Bon Accord, Glasgow.
Red brown with a thin off white head. Roasty malt and a slight sourness. Fruity finish. Far from being in good nick unfortunately.

Cask in the Bon Accord. Another beer in bad condition. Aroma is roasty, musty, old cellar. Taste is similar, quite yeasty, some fruit. But body is dead and its fairly usless.

[Cask from The Three Judges] Deep brown with a moderate, foamy head. Toffe and roast in the nose, touch of fruit, earthy, English hops. Some more roast and a bit of fruit, dry finish.
