Cask (gravity dispense) at London Drinker Beer Festival 2007. The programme notes suggested that this would be a dark and malty ale but, in reality, it was a pretty standard copper bitter colour. There was a modicum of, almost smoky, malt character in the aroma. Rather restrained bitterness on the palate. A respectable, if rather soft, session bitter.

On cask at The Paisley Beer Festival. Pours a slightly hazy dark colour with a fair beige head. Aroma of caramel, grassy hops, yeast and alcohol. Similar flavours with mild carbonation and an oily mouth-feel.

Cask at the Glenrothes Beer Festival 08. Chestnut with a thin filmy head. Sour hop/malt balance and a distinct nose of sick and staleness.Mouth is bitter and sour and watery, then malty, with some sweet biscuit. Not entirely unpleasant.

A Mes rate: Gravicask @ Reading Beer Festival. Amber colour. Slightly bland in the nose but there is just about some detectable malt and hops so I guess it has some balance. Strange traditional lemonade hint in the flavour. Watery mouthfeel. Wet behind the ears.
