2.3 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 9/20 Rastacouere (6041) - Montreal, Quebec, CANADA - SEP 27, 2007
Dark copper, clear. Small departing off-white head. Dark malt nose with molasses, brazil nuts and burnt caramel notes. Not very well done this one, there’s an unpleasant farty touch to the nose and it feels overly burnt. More bitterness shows up by the sip, but the palate is poor, oily and thin.

Malty beer without much character. True to its type, I suppose.

Bottle thanks to craig, rbesg07. Aroma is biscuity and amber malts, grassy hints. Taste is similar, as an alt should be primarly malty, but the malts used dont fit together very well.

3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20 MoritzF (7756) - Bochum, GERMANY - JUN 10, 2007
(bottle, via DerDoppelbock) Clear, reddish brown clour with a big and quite persistent foamy beige head. Moderately sweet toast-malty, slightly nutty and bready aroma with caramel and faint notes of lemon. Sweet flavour with a mild bitterness, light bodied, crispy, if not fizzy carbonation. Toast-malty taste with caramel; slim, toasty, sweet-bitter finish with caramel/toffee in the aftertaste. Light but drinkable “Alt”, that lacks fruit-character and hops; tastes more like a decent Dunkel.

Bottle at Chris_O’s, March 07. Chestnut colour with a reasonable-sized off-white loose head and a toasty, fruity nose. A tangy, fresh taste: sweet fruit with a slight underlying sourness and a sourish after.
