Poured a lightly hazy amber color with a small, off white head that left light lacing on the glass. Aroma of wood, wine oak, wild yeast, citrus fruits, and toasted malts. Taste of grapes, ripe dark fruits, citrus fruits, vanilla oak, and a tart, sour finish.

On tap at the General, pours clear medium brown. Kind of mild nose with slight oak, roasted grain, and sour red wine vinegar. Flavor is decent, has some interesting sour nuances, but there’s too much vinegar character and not as much funky, bretty expression as I would like. A good try and I would like to see more attempts at sour ales from this brewery, but it seems to me that strong, malty ales are their forte.

On tap at the GLI Brew Pub (thanks Eric for tipping me off this one was on tap!). Poured a deeper and cloudy amberish color with a small sized off white head. Aromas of woody/oakiness, some roastiness, funky, and citrus. Tastes of the same oakiness, vanilla, dark fruitiness, and some funkiness. Nice, but not overpowering, tart and sour finish.
