Opaque muddy burgundy coloured body with a decent white head that recedes slowly to ring with some lacing. Vinous, bubblegum, woody, raisin flavour with light bitterness. Medium body with moderate carbonation. Sampled on tap at the brewpub with beerbuzzmontreal, MartinT, Rastacouere and Yowie. beerbuzzmontreal (2911), Montreal, Quebec, Canada
| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 16/20 | Oct 14, 2005 Pours a cloudy brown color with no head. Very appealing aroma of banana and candy. Very good flavor of banana, bubble-gum and candy. The palate is light and sticky with low carbonation. This is excellent and would make a perfect desert. MartinT (5055), Montreal, Quebec, Canada
| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Oct 13, 2005 The Lure: Cloves and grape bubblegum are propulsed from the dry yeastiness. A little too faint of an aroma to be spectacular, but something fun obviously resides within.
The Festivities: Spritzy carbonation plows through the active cloves and sweet, fruity bubblegum esters. The yeast is doing its work splendidly, and there is enough malt to back it up. A flavorful and authentic example of the style.
Transcendence: The nobles are lunching in the garden. Rastacouere (5553), Montréal, Quebec, Canada
| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 4/5 | 13/20 | Oct 11, 2005 Cloudy brown, the covering off-white head lasts very long despite eventually receding to a ring. Room taking wheat fits the candied ice cream maltiness like a glove while the yeast brings on phenolic band-aids and medicinal taste nuances into the medley for a sweet and yeasty, but tasty weizenbock, interspersed by a lasting bitterness and a light slash of earthy hops. | 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Jun 8, 2005 Amber color, with complex aroma of caramel malt, spices, toffee, nuts, figs. Tastes bocky, with some clove/banana elements at the finish. Complex and unique. Shag (1923), Chattanooga, Tennessee, USA
| 4.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 9/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 18/20 | Apr 26, 2005 A vintage bottle from the cellar. The aging of this beer has apparently done wonders. A brownish red appearance with a large head. The aroma is grapes and wheat. The flavor is mainly sour grapes and nuts. It has a doughy flavor present as well. This one beats out Aventius for sure. Excelllent. Eyedrinkale (3209), Astoria, New York, USA
| 3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 2/5 | 12/20 | Nov 30, 2004 Pint @ brewpub. Similar to the Loch Ness Monster as that it has a very big alcohol taste. Darkish amber color with a lunar head. Aroms of chocolate, banana and cloves. Taste is roasted malts with pepper, hops and bubble gum. This stuff is not for the faint of heart. Im guessing the abv is a bit more than the 7.5% thats listed here, as it really packs a punch. The drinkability is there, until it warms up a bit. It then becomes a bit too sweet and sticky. hopdog (5561), Lansdale, Pennsylvania, USA
