Probiere (992), Iowa, USA Jul 19, 2004 Wheaty aroma (duh), molasses, slight banana. Sweet but papery taste. Bit glue-ey. Kinda flat. Some mild spice in there somehwere, likely cloves. Finishes clean but not in the least bit exciting. muzzlehatch (4427), Burlington, Vermont, USA Jul 18, 2004 Sampled at the Philadelphia gathering, July 10. Opaque dark copper..caramel, smoke and a bit of wet dark wood, banana in the nose. Thick, quite a bit of noticeable alcohol, whiskey-vanilla-banana...rather sour, spicy finish. Good, but just a middle-of-the-road weizenbock. obxdude10 (1547), Pottstown, Pennsylvania, USA Jul 12, 2004 Hazy deep amber color, slight lacing around the glass, malt nose, little notes of banana & clove in the flavors along with a slight hint of caramel, spicy & dry finish with a little presence of the alcohol, nice & smooth, a good hefe-bock
egajdzis (3602), Spring Mount, Pennsylvania, USA Jul 11, 2004 Updated: Apr 22, 2005Vintage 2004... Poured an amber color with an off white head and light lacing on the glass. Sweet aroma of roast, caramel and clove. Taste of chocolate, clove, sour grapes, cherries, wood, and caramel and finally finishing spicy and very alcoholic. A year old is much better than a fresh sample. mkobes (2103), paramus, New Jersey, USA Jul 7, 2004 On tap at brewpub. Nice beer. Dark in color with a nice lasting head. Malty and sweet. Well balanced. Banana and clove. Noticeable alcohol burn. Full body. argo0 (6861), Washington DC, USA Jul 5, 2004 Opaque muddy brown with tan head. Aroma is medium sweet, clove, wheat, light banana. Taste is medium sweet, clove, light banana, noticeable alcohol. Medium-full body. phillymonksman (60), Ardmore, Pennsylvania, USA Sep 18, 2003 Very cloudy dark amber color. Non-descript light smell. Plenty of carbination in palate with a nice medium body feel in my mouth.
This is a sweet tasting good bock. Although not my favorite style, it is one of the bet bocks i've ever tasted. morebier4me (140), New York, USA Sep 15, 2002
