3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 13/20 tiggmtl (4475) - Vancouver, British Columbia, CANADA - DEC 13, 2005
Mild, grainy malt nose with some sufury notes apparent. Clear blonde body with a low cover of white head that recedes rapidly to ring. Grainy cereal malt and the same suggestion of sulfur as is found in the nose exists in the flavour along with a moderate bitterness. Light medium body with fair carbonation. Sampled on tap at the brewpub with beerbuzzmontreal, MartinT, Rastacouere and Yowie.

Draft at the brewery. Nice solid pils. Had a good clean German bite to it.

Pours a clear pale gold color with no head. Aroma of mild hops and citrus. Flavor of hops and citrus with a bitter finish. The palate is medium and creamy and the carbonation is low.
3.3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20 MartinT (6350) - Montreal, Quebec, CANADA - OCT 12, 2005
The Lure: Whispering straw within the sulphur. Unassuming, but aptly made.
The Festivities: Crisp straw-like malts and earthy hop bitterness coexist cheerfully. Pleasant, lightly flavorful, and moreover an interesting quencher.
Transcendence: Meat and potatoes can make a pleasant meal if made with care.
2.7 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 10/20 Rastacouere (5923) - Montréal, Quebec, CANADA - OCT 11, 2005
Nice lacing punctuates the glass, white sheets of foam, atop the clear pale golden body. Highly sulfury, eggy pils with more watery peaks than you’d wish for. Floral, herbal tones are remote, setting a leafy trap among which the light pils malts fall and never get back from. Light bodied, moderately high carbonation, though more biting than crisp.

Tap at GLI. Clear yellow, very little white head. Aroma has hops, some malt, and a hint of butterscotch that shows itself as the pint is downed. Malty hoppy flavor, with a hint of butterscotch that once again appears after several gulps. Crisp and decent.
2.7 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20 hopdog (7053) - Lansdale, Pennsylvania, USA - AUG 20, 2004
UPDATED: NOV 7, 2005 On tap. I generally don’t like pilsners but I went ahead and let my wife choose the last beer for me today. Guess what she picked? Poured a light yellow with no head. Lightly bitter. Nothing else to note other than I left and didn’t finish it (go figure, I’d rather get back to work after lunch).
Rerate. Aromas and tastes of citrus and some fruits. Increased the scores and I enjoyed it a little more than my original ratings.

Not a very good example of the pils style, way too much hops for this style, this was more like an APA, even borderline IPA with the over-use of the hops, way too bitter & dry, beautiful clear golden color with a nice lacy white head, crisp & medium in body, but way too much hops
