Acceptable on a budget. Something to go with nachos or chips. Not much else.

Rated 12/2/05: Genesee out of the keg was the beer of choice among my pals up in Cleveland back in the day. A keg or two would accompany a weekly cook out so I have many fond yet cloudy memories with this beer. Tonight I grabbed a 30 pack for the heck of it. As I am drinking one right now I can honestly say it is a nice change of pace from my usual cheap stand by (which happens to be Strohs). This beer is unusually smooth and has a really good finish compared to most American mainstream beers. My only wish is that the frothy head that is immediately present once poured into a glass would stick around for a bit longer. All in all I can’t complain!

1.2 AROMA 2/10 APPEARANCE 1/5 TASTE 3/10 PALATE 1/5 OVERALL 5/20 Boliv (964) - New York, USA - APR 26, 2007
We call it Gene-sewer, for good reason. Urine-yellow, skunky, and bland. Meh, still beats out Keystone. Barely.
1.5 AROMA 3/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 3/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 5/20 JohnBarleycorn (537) - Toronto, Ontario, CANADA - APR 19, 2007
Boring light-gold appearance, cereal aroma and standard pale lager palate. A watery, near-flavourless taste profile contains a distant hint of boiled rice lording over the virtual pinch of malt and hops that are contained in this well-below-average brew. Finishes with a sweet, sap-like, woody bitterness. The label says premium, which makes one shudder at the thought of what lack of energy would go into a Genesee budget brew.

A friend of mine brought this back from the NE. Pours rather dark yellow for a pale lager with a medium fizzy white head. The nose is sweet corn and aluminum can. Rather metallic watery flavor, sharp mouthfeel, typical bad pale lager.
2.6 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 10/20 Nekronos (2627) - Xalapa, MEXICO - APR 7, 2007
Another one to the sink. I don’t know what was on my head when I bought these, maybe the competition. It was sandy, incipit and even gross. BUt nothing to leave on ym good memories about beer tasting.
