Wow! I guess everyone is more into the micros and foriegn beers. I think this is one of the better (best) macros in the US! This is especially good on tap. I agree this is not one of the best BEERS in the world, but for the price it beats the Bud and Coors, and you will not even get the headache that the competitors give you. If you are out and don’t want to overpay for an American macro, choose the best, Genesee!

No one flavor note really stands out. Basic American macro, yellow and fizzy. Still, I prefer it to Budweiser. Much better value than crappy Bud. Bonus nostalgia points, for taking me back to a time before I even drank beer, somehow. Good picnic/summer party beer.
2.4 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 10/20 yarry (451) - Waterdown, Ontario, CANADA - FEB 6, 2006
355ml can, 4.5% a/v
Standard pale lager appearance. Gold color, bubbly with a white head. Smells citrusy. Tastes fairly watery, a bit like corn. Goes down fairly smooth as well. Not bad for the price actually.
4.1 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20 sovereign27 (4) - CANADA - JAN 18, 2006 does not count
Decent beer...considering the price.
Even though it’s american it still does the job.
Cheers.

At the University of Rochester, legend has it that this beer is made by scooping up canfulls of the murky Genesee river. I think the legend is correct.

12 oz. can. Pours yellow with a fizzy white head. Some hops aroma along with corn cereal. Same holds true for the flavor. A step above the true macrobrews (Bud, etc.) and a pretty good value for the money. Best enjoyed on a hot summer’s day at a BBQ.
1.9 AROMA 3/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 5/20 auderale (591) - Bitburg, GERMANY - JAN 2, 2006
Decent. Brings back a lot of HS memories too. It is actually pretty smooth and not much of an aftertaste.

I’ve been slowly consuming a 30-pack of Genesee Beer over the past five weeks. Corny beer, slight aroma, pale color, some sweet malt. Overall a rough ride. Basically Genny Beer has been a back-up brew, when the good beer has been consumed and my taste buds have numbed its time for a Genesee Beer.
