COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Fully kraeusened to produce carbonation naturally for a clean, smooth taste, "Genny" is brewed with six-row barley malt, corn grits, hops from the Yakima Valley and Genesee’s exclusive bottom-fermenting yeast

Not at all bad for a macro. It's been many years since I had a Genny, a beer I remember fondly from my adolescent drinking experiences. Pours bright yellow with a bubbly head and thin lacing. Has an interesting, mediciny wine aroma. Smooth mouthfeel, with considerably more complexity than found in most mass-produced brews. I can actually almost identify the use of hops in this macro. I'm glad it's not undrinkable, because I bought a 30-pack. If you're a regular macro drinker and want to save a few bucks, give it a try.

Doughy malt aroma. Good cap, average Am Std appearance. Lightlys sweet, non-tart, bland and drinkable. Quick spicy finish on a starchy palate.

GIBF 2003: Yellow fizzy appearance, corny aroma, fizzy palate, ends without much fanfare but is a bit sharp.

Overall, bland, but not necessarily bad. Slight malty aroma, but leaning more towards wet cardboard. Very thin head on a light yellow pour. Flavor is quite bland, neither hops nor malt is very evident. Does not have that chemically feel to it that the big macros have though - must be the corn grits as the commercial description states! Has a bit of a metallic aftertaste. Would be a decent thirst quencher for lawn mowing purposes. Overall, nothing offending here - had worse.

I notice carbonation much more in cheap, bad, beers. Why? All I can say is it could be worse.

Frat house beer. Cheap, bad, best served ice cold through a funnel. Could be worse, drinkable when fresh but a skunked or old can is simply putrid. Good for pounding.

For all intents & purposes, this is almost identical to regular Schlitz. More hop & malt than most people (those that reach for Bud Light & Corona, that is) are used to encountering. Alcohol apparent in taste. I will drink any cheap beer so I gave it a shot.

Maybe it was the can, maybe it was the beer. I was faced by a lack of options at a party, so I though I'd give it a try. I poured some into a glass exposing the light color and releasing some funky aromas. The first sip was OK, but after I swallowed, all kinds of bad flavors appeared. I tried it straight from the can a few times with no luck. I hated to dump a beer, but I couldn't drink it.
