Fully kraeusened to produce carbonation naturally for a clean, smooth taste, "Genny" is brewed with six-row barley malt, corn grits, hops from the Yakima Valley and Genesee’s exclusive bottom-fermenting yeast

I was expecting this to be the worst beer in the world. Actually, it was just as drinkable as most major macro swill. I’m not saying this beer was good, just not as bad as I thought it was going to be. For 2.99 a sixer it could be crucial in a pinch. It had a sweet, grainy flavor of additives.

Gimme a Genny.... NOT. You can understand why the lost market share. People don’t drink swill unless they see it on TV

UPDATED: JAN 29, 2004 Overpowering cereal taste. Grainy and very heavy corn/alcohol taste. a horrible beer by all standards.

Sweet smell, pale yellow, grassy, flat. Light and fluffy, ordinary.

Genesee Beer is adequate, but the Cream Ale’s the one to buy. This is very fizzy and lacks any malt punch.

One of the best among cheap beers. If your struggling for cash this is a plausible solution to your beer needs.

Smells nasty. Looks nasty...but looks can be decieving. This is honestly one of the most refreshing beers i have ever had.

While this may rate high among most cheap brews, that does not make it a great beer. Oh well, cheap and somewhat smooth.

Ah, Genny - long time no see! Haven’t had this in years, but it was the western New York mainstay when I worked there. An OK, not great, beer, but I’d drink it over Miller or Bud any day. Has an umistakeable ’working man’s brew’ character - interpret that as you wish. I liked their homely old label - kinda sorry to see they’ve changed it. This was sold in short, squat bottles (like Red Stripe) many years ago - don’t know if it still is or not.
