Pretty good aroma in the right glass. Standard American aroma, hoppy/sweet. Big frothy head that lasted quite awhile and laced. Golden-amber color. Fizzy, watery palate. Weak and watery taste. Some sweetness but not all that appealing. Mild finish and after.

At the University of Rochester, legend has it that this beer is made by scooping up canfulls of the murky Genesee river. I think the legend is correct.

From a 16 oz can we call a pounder. This stuff is only 50 cents a 16 oz can over in ohio. That’s a dollar a quart! Drank lots of Jenny back in the days of youth, I wonder if it is the same recipe? The aroma is clean yet has perhaps a hint of something I may call cream corn, but just barely. Has a head that is more attractive than most of your pale lagers. Good clean taste impact, Not offensive and there is no sign of bitterness or offensiveness at all. Enjoyable, fun and easy to get along with. Has a tight palate that comes across as playful at times. Nice session brew. Even tho the color of this is ubiquitous pale yellow american beer it has a continuing rolling carbonation that is readily apparent and sustains the head. For this I’ll give it a 2 instead of a 1 in the appearance category. Easy drinking session brew, just as good as I remember. Very good above average carbonation, welcomed tingliness. Finish is easy to accept and fortunately does not leave any undesirable preservative finish. Not bad!

12 oz. can. Pours yellow with a fizzy white head. Some hops aroma along with corn cereal. Same holds true for the flavor. A step above the true macrobrews (Bud, etc.) and a pretty good value for the money. Best enjoyed on a hot summer’s day at a BBQ.

12 oz can. Got a six pack of this after trying Genny Light last night. I thought this was a bit better. Smoother taste actually, and more alcohol - good combo.

Genesee Beer is adequate, but the Cream Ale’s the one to buy. This is very fizzy and lacks any malt punch.

UPDATED: DEC 6, 2008 [12 oz. can] Clear yellow pour with a fizzy white head. Slightly bitter aroma of corn and grains and a touch of hops. Slightly bitter and metallic taste. Mostly corn and grains. Surprisingly refreshing. All in all, not as bad as it could be.

Rating #2500, in honor of my great-grandfather Edward Secore. I bought a 6 pack of this at BevMo in Natomas, CA. The aroma on this is very sweet, and a bit floral. Not much in the way of hops or grassiness. A pale lager, that’s for sure. Transparent yellow body with a medium white head that is pretty fizzy. Starts sweet with corn-like malted flavors. Becomes a little biscuity in the middle with scant toastiness present. Finishes with some fusel flavors that are off. Not really overly enjoyable now, but I wish I would have been able to enjoy one with my great-grandfather. RIP Pupa.

After the Saigon we tried, this actually seemed ok. Light corn aroma on a yellow body. Bland, but inoffensive taste - no hops, but a crispy mouthfeel that I suppose would go down quite easy if you drank enough of them. Bland macro lager for sure, but slightly better than expected.
