3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20 HonkeyBra (2217) - Lemont, Illinois, USA - MAR 12, 2010
Amber pour with creamy off white head. Some caramel in the nose. Maybe a light generic sweetness. Flavor is smooth, again some caramel and maybe a bit of herbal hops. Pretty heavy carbonation. Creamy mouthfeel. I mean, for the price, you can’t really complain. Pretty good beer for a low price.
3 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20 uvajed (138) - Ravenna, Ohio, USA - MAR 1, 2010
Pours a clear reddish-brown out of the can, with a big, light tan head. Foam dissipates quickly, leaving a light cover on top and a bit of lacing on the glass. Aroma of a little malt, maybe hints of spice and molasses, but not strong by any means. Very smooth, slightly sweet taste, too light on the hops for me. More carbonated than a bock should be, but not crazy fizzy like a Bud.
Overall, my new favorite cheap beer! Beats the hell out of Pabst, Genny Cream, Blatz (all of which I am okay with), even Budweiser (which I hate, but many people love) and similar lagers. I like this as much as Yuengling Lager, which is one of my favorites. I can buy this in my town (unlike Yuengling, for some stupid reason), though it is only a seasonal, apparently. I am definitely stocking up while I can. At $6.99 for 12 cans, this simply can not be beat, or even threatened. My god, why don’t they sell this all year!?!? Genesee’s brewery is severely under rated, and has been expanding a bit as of late, and I hope they continue to do so. Not phenomenal, but the best beer I’ve found locally for under $10/12. Try it if you can, despite the crazy can and 12-pack design.
2.9 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20 mcjay (438) - Neenah, Wisconsin, USA - FEB 24, 2010
Transparent brownish amber color with a thin but somewhat persistent tan head. Caramel aroma with a hint of bread. Flavor is grainy with traces of caramel, toffee, hops and yeast.
2.7 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20 Tanker12 (170) - USA - FEB 23, 2010
Aroma is faint malt and some coco. Appearance is a deep red with a fizzy quickly dissipating head. Body is malt and palate is thin and fizzy. Not an overly complex beer but for 50 cents a can I will defiantly be buying another case.
2.6 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 10/20 MrBeerFanatic (502) - jamestown, New York, USA - FEB 18, 2010
The pour was a decent laced frothy head good retention. Aromas of sour caramel, slight apple, light grain, light hops. The flavor department is much like mixing a Busch with a bock, because it doesn’t resemble a bock much at all. Taste of light sour apples, grain, slightly metallic, touch of de ole caramel, or roasted caramel(?), slightly nutty like me... Well I guess I could have been easily been persuaded to believe this was a great bock.....So deceiving I tell ya!
3.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20 Arayaga2 (1435) - Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, USA - OCT 3, 2009
Clear ruby chestnut with a creamy white head. Aroma is worty caramel. Taste is the same, and pleasant, albeit dilute in intensity. Overall, a truly excellent value among low-cost beers @ $14/case
3.5 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20 blazin5050 (1) - Lumberton, New Jersey, USA - OCT 2, 2009 does not count
I rated a little higher because you can sit here and say that this beer doesn’t taste like a good bock. It’s more like Bock Light, but still to have a slight craft taste and not be offensive at 7 bucks a 12 pack! Come on dude, this beer is a definite go to for the craft beer drinker on a budget, or if just going to a party and feeling like throwing some back without having to go toward Keystone or Natural Ice. I recommend this beer for the craft drinker that wants to play beer pong or keg stand 100% Cheers

can, thanks z13! pours dark mahogany with a thin off white head. Aroma is toasted malt, some carmel and fruity yeast notes. Nutty malt body, wtih great depth and light sweetness ends with a peppery sazz finish. Mildly tart with a alcohol hint edging in toward the end. Not bad at all.
