2.3 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 9/20
Can. My first thoughts when I see this brand are "stale nearly green putrescence!". In other words, I am by no means a fan of "Genny". However, this brew proves to have some redeeming values, most certainly not in the outdated (1970’s) can art! Anyways, the brew poured a slight reddish brown with a very nice thick head, which diminished quickly. Aromas are that of sweet malts and some notes of caramel. Very light bodied and in flavour as well. But it is quite drinkable. This is by no means a typical bock, I think they sort of missed their target, but made a decent brew at that! Enjoy it if you can find it.

2.2 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 8/20
Sweet malty and caramel aroma; little more sweet than I’d like. Flavor: mostly follows suit, but lighter on the sweetness. Actually a little bland and flat, especially in the finish and aftertaste. Not really my thing. Don’t plan on getting again.

Clear, copper-brown with a huge, frothy tan head.
Caramel, nutty, woody aroma.
Taste is sweet caramel malt, toasted nutty malts....
Feels pretty light, but has a pleasant, easy flavour.

4.3 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 17/20
First off, the majestic heraldry on the can: a cute billygoat argent, to dexter, courant, with mullets Or on a field of verd. Bready aroma and amber appearance. Taste is light sweet and light bitter at the same time. It’s exactly as described: full-flavored lager with slight malty finish. Pairs well with a bacon-burger and oven-roasted potatos.

3.2 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
UPDATED: MAR 1, 2015 Pour from a 12oz can, 12 pack from Horrock?s i n Battle Creek. Nice looking clear copper brew with off white head. Aroma is caramel with nutty notes, some sort of spice barely detectable. Taste is sweet malt and caramel up front transitioning to a slightly nutty finish. As per the style, very little overt hops present but the finish is clean and offset by some degree of bittering. Average to lighter palate. I?m glad I ran into this!

3.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Bottle gifted by the barman at the Brew House. Big thanks. Reddish brown with a tall head. Caramel and raisin nose. Creamy caramel flavor, vanilla, raisins. A bit too light in body, and slightly candy-ish, but still pretty decent. Enjoyable, light, and easy drinking but still with flavor. Best beer they make for sure.

3.7 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 16/20
This brew poured wonderful reddish amber, with an off white head. The head is frothy and leaves good lacing on the glass. The aroma is of light malts and straw, adjusted with corn or rice. Also there is just a hint of caramel. The taste is sweet and malty, bready and pretzel like over light straw and cereal notes. Hops are almost a nonfactor adding just a touch of dryness light mineral like notes. The palate is medium bodied creamy and smooth. Finish is short and sweet. Overall not outstanding but a good beer at a great price.

3 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
12oz can into a pint glass. Very cool can design btw.
Pours a crystal clear darkish brown with a half finger off-white head. Poor head retention and lacing but I really wasn’t expecting a whole to out of this beer.
Aroma has burnt caramel, toffee, and some molasses. Perhaps a touch of corn as well.
More caramel on the taste along with molasses and a quick whiff of alcohol. Light corn with a little grassy hop character. Slightly sticky with very little bitterness and a bit of a thin mouthfeel.
Overall, while this is far from a great beer or a good example of the style, it is very refreshing and quite tasty considering the price. A beer I like to pick up every spring.
