2.8 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 14/20 locarboy (119) - USA - MAY 29, 2007
this is ome of my college beers. i expected to think not too much of it after years away from it. hey, i used to like stroh’s, schlitz, and a fresh schmitdt’s on occasion. genesee cream ale has held it’s own. for a pale lager beer it actually has a bit of character compared to BMC. a bit sweet in the palate, but that is the attraction. it is a traditional industrial american cream ale. take that for what it is worth. given the choice of a bud, miller, coors, or genny cream...i’ll take the genny cream.

$1 can at Bender’s Sports Pub. Ice cold, this beer was drinkable at that price. Considering the alternatives in the $1 cooler (Keystone Light and Blatz), I think the Genesee Cream Ale was a fine beer. Smelled like a BMC clone, taste was slightly fuller. Corn flavors appeared as it warmed. Genesee Cream Ale falls into that category for me where, when faced with bottom of the barrel options, it’s the best of the worst. It’s not really fair to rate it against an Arrogant Bastard or a Westy, but it is what it is.
1 AROMA 2/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 2/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 2/20 Lubiere (6707) - Ottawa, Ontario, CANADA - MAY 18, 2007
A golden beer with a thin white head. Corny aroma. Corny and metallic taste, rather unremarkable macro swill. Tap. Pint at 1.50$ at Clarks Ale House, Syracuse, Feb.5 2007.
2.7 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 8/20 alexanderj (2830) - Gilbert, Arizona, USA - MAY 17, 2007
Bottle; this was surprisingly good. Poured a clear gold, with a large head and lots of carbonation. Aroma of malt and soapy like hops. Some grain. Flavor was corny and grainy, with a hint of spice, but actually good. The mouthfeel was smooth and creamy. I thought it was good for the style, despite it not being so.
2.8 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20 cking (1175) - North Canton, Ohio, USA - MAY 17, 2007
Rated 3/20/06: I’ve had this many years ago out of the bottle, came across it the other day at the grocery store so I picked up a twelve pack of cans. Solid beer, much better than I remember. Pours a golden yellow, slightly darker than most of the BMC’s. Creamy head that quickly leaves (too soon in myh opinion), adequate carbonation and no lacing. The aroma doesn’t grab my attention, I can detect some decent maltiness along with a weak grain afterscent. The mouthfeel is rather pleasant, it is full and creamy. The nice mouthfeel leads me into an exceptionally pleasant taste. I am surprised, although not outstanding the flavor of this beer is mild and enjoyable. There is a nice maltiness that keeps my attention. Smooth finish and no unpleasant aftertaste. I don’t want to call this swill, but it appears to be marketed as such. For the price this is one beer that I will consider keeping stocked in my fridge, another surprising find among the beers found along the bottom shelves.
2.1 AROMA 3/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 9/20 RCL (2025) - Waltham, Massachusetts, USA - MAY 16, 2007
I have to say, I was surprised by value of this beer. It is the cheapest damn beer around, yet it has a comparatively rich mouthfeel and inoffensive, ever-so-slightly-fruity, flavor.
1.4 AROMA 2/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 3/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 5/20 onehotsexychic (101) - Albany, New York, USA - MAY 6, 2007
I need my John Deere hat, lawnmower and a farmers tan and I’d be set (I know you know what I mean - my girlfriends father would drink this stuff while working on cars... he would line up the cans on the roof...HOT.)
