COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Flavor of a fine ale and the smoothness of a premium lager.

Notes of creamed corn and old socks in the nose. Very lively carbonation. Slight head at first but disappeared very quickly. Pale straw yellow. This is a very average for the style pale lager. Not a cream ale at all in any sense.

[Bottle] Clear golden color, modest head formation. Grainy, sweet malt aroma. Sweet malty palate, grainy, cereal notes, mildly bitter finish.

24 oz "tall boy" can from Grocery Oulet,Salem. 99cents Poured into a shaker glass. Pale golden beer with a very nice sized white frothy head. Also leaves good lace down the glass. Aroma? paper, corn and veggie. Taste..semi sweet, doughy, a little hay..plain and simple. Not bad on the palate..lowish carbonation makes this palatable. Overall plain cheap beer. Not as good as i remembered from the 1990s..but still a respectable effort for a 99 cent tallboy.

Pours yellow from bottle. No aroma or taste. Drainpour. Not much head to speak of.

Poured from a 12 ounce bottle into a Samuel Adams Perfect Pint glass. Appearance: Pours a clear light gold with a 1/2 finger foamy white head. Decent lacing. Typical adjunct lager look. Smell: Sweet grain and malt. Smells very much like an adjunct lager. Taste: Sweet grain up front followed by pale malt in the middle before finishing with a very light amount of hops at the finish. Aftertaste is very light and non-offensive. Mouthfeel: Light-to-medium-bodied with a good amount of carbonation. Goes down smooth. Drinkability: Good drinkability. Goes down very easy. You could knock back several of these without much trouble. Overall: Decent beer for a hot summer day. While I’m not familiar with the cream ale style, I feel like I’ve definitely had the style before in the form of adjunct lager. This isn’t something I’d seek out, but it’s a nice alternative to BMC when looking to drink several beers over the course of a hot summer day.

Spelt (206) - East Kingston, New Hampshire, USA - MAY 6, 2011
Pours a brilliantly clear yellow with thick white head that fairly quickly drops to a skim of foam. Aroma shows some very faint noble hops and a little green apple. Maybe sweetbread aroma too. Flavor is of lightly toasted white bread. Barely there bitterness. Very clean fermentation. Mouthfeel is too thin. Smooth and drinkable but not terribly interesting.

24oz can. Light yellow with a bubbly white head. The usual cheap aromas of corn, metal and straw are present. A bitter, straw flavor up front with a very light, buttery smooth finish. A bitter bite returns in the aftertaste. What do you want for a buck? Skip the glass and just drink it out of the can, its better that way.
