I liked the taste. It has one of the better heads I’ve seen. This brew was a staple in my late high school and early college days because it was cheap and I lived where it was readily available. I tried it again about ten years ago for nostalgia’s sake and I was pleased to find that it hadn’t changed much.

UPDATED: FEB 10, 2012 Light yellow with a cream colored head with little to no lacing. Sweet and toasted bread aroma. Light pilsner malt character with a hints of corn and banana.

12 oz stubby, high expectations on this one- Pours clear gloden with a creamy white head that reduces to a thin blanket and some lace sticks around. Aroma is grain, sweet corn, some spiciness. The taste is actually better than expected, the first thing I get is a nice creaminess, pretty pleasant, but then the grains show their ugly selves, corn, then the finish is mellow and drinkable. Body is thin, carbonation is moderately high. Overall it was better than expected, but still, will probably never drink again.

12oz can at Speedy Romeo in Bk with Erica last night. Got it b/c it always reminds me of trips upstate to Oswego during the college years. I think it was like $7 for a 24pk. It’s a little different for a college beer - it has something of a toffee/gumball sort of taste to it, so I can see where they get off calling it a cream ale. Still not good, but not the worst.

This is a beer your Grand Daddy used to drink! 24 oz. can from Market Basket. Poured into a lager glass. Not much nose at all even when warm. Don’t drink this warm, not a good idea…serve ice cold. Corn and sweet malt flavor. At least it stays with the style. Creamy and smooth texture. You get what you pay for here however, it’s not offensive in anyway.

Tap. Smells metallic and sour and sweet. Light golden with no real head. Tasted like stale buttered popcorn (which always tastes like dirt to me). High carbonation, hard mouthfeel.

On draft it came to the table with out much head or aroma. It had hints of vanilla and sweetness but not so much malty. Do they put hops in this stuff? Didn’t detect any. It was a lovely pale yellow and felt pretty good in the mouth. Interesting, but not great.

pours a yellow light white head, thin lacking taste and body, Lacing hangs on well, Genesee is a better beer than this

12oz stubby bottle poured into a pint glass. Pours a clear straw yellow with a small soapy head that quickly disappears to nothing. Smells of corn and cooked vegetables. Maybe a touch of sweetness. The taste is corny sweetness kind of like creamed corn. A little bit of bread but not much. There is a very light bitterness throughout. It goes down smooth and would be good on a hot day but that’s about it. Pretty unimpressive and really not that good of a beer.
