Good example of what a traditional English ale yeast can provide in the way of fruits (currants, especially) in a light bodied, otherwise fairly neutral substrate. Some malt in aroma and taste, with hops supporting both. Sometimes a blast of DMS, at other times a more pleasant whiff. Highly drinkable, but with more character than most other fizzy mass-market beers. Seems to be at its best a little warmer than ice-cold. Donít sell this beer short.

Watery and mostly tasteless, this beer left zero lasting impression. I then decided to not even try the regular Genesee

Can shared by Keith. Lots of corn and rice. Crystal clear. Taste is pretty neutral overall bland and ok.

Light creamy amber pour. The scent and flavor here is like a skunky fall lager. Not the best cream ale.

12 oz. bottle. Pours clear yellow, minimal head. Aroma was light, pale lagerish, grass and sweet. Taste was sweet and watery.

Can from Hop City Birmingham, AL. Pours transparent gold with foamy white head. Aroma of corn grain and slightly hoppy. Tastes of grain and just a hint of hops. This is a cheap beer that is much better than Bud or Coors. Perfect for watching football and tailgating.

Can. Consumed on a hot Saint Louis afternoon in April 2012. Taste was slight. Very smooth. Easy drinking and cheap too. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Clear golden brew with decent head that smells very grainy. Taste is a bit grainy but smooth making this a very chuggable brew. Itís OK but not anything to rave about and the price was decent.

Pours blonde gold with a frothy white head. Nose is very weak with just a touch of hops and bread. Thin body with a weak overall flavor; this is about as close to a neutral beer as flavor can get. Not offensive but not much here.

For a budget beer/ale Genny Cream is not too shabby. It has a malt liquor nose and aroma but the taste is corn grains with some hop spiciness which beats out a Coors or Bud. It is a bit astringent, but not that it makes it harsh. When one thinks of Genesee, they think of this beer. Itís an all seasons beer/ale. If you donít expect too much you will not be that disappointed with it.

Bottle from Total Wine. Watery, piss-colored swill. Gave me a headache. Nasty stuff i wouldnít give to my worst enemies. I think even Coors is better than this.
