2 AROMA 3/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 3/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 8/20 Tmoney99 (6889) - Cincinnati, Ohio, USA - MAR 12, 2011
Can Genesee Ice 16 oz. 5.5% ABV. Poured clear pale color with a large frothy white head that was mostly lasting with good lacing. Light to moderate sweet grainy aroma. Light to medium body with a smooth texture and soft carbonation. Medium sweet flavor with a medium sweet finish of short to moderate duration. Worth having once.

24oz can for $0.99. It’s a crappy "ice" beer that hardly has the ABV to qualify. Tastes like carbonated barley water. Why did I buy this?

UPDATED: FEB 25, 2011 24 ounce can, the apropos vessel for this libation, labeled Genesee Ice. Silver and black can appears to be a knockoff of Molson Ice, or perhaps some other macro’s ice - silver & black cans appear to be the standard for this kind of brew. The aroma is not the worst, but the sweet, corny flavor is pretty lame. I can barely taste any hops, but I can taste something weird in there, something that doesn’t fit, like relish or mustard, or a cheap hot dog on a corn syrup-laced bun. The alcohol level is pretty low too, for an "ice" beer. Not only is this stuff not very good, it’s not even good for this crumby style.

24 oz. can labeled "Genesee Ice" with 5.5% abv. So many variations on the same beer! This pours foamy, more skunk than the Genesee Beer from Wednesday. Still, a clean yellow body under puffy foam. But the same cheap lager corn smell of any beer I’ve had with "Ice" in its name. Taste has corn edges, some malt, but sweetness over character. Exactly what I’d expect for a 99¢ Ice tallboy.

Nose is muted, unoffensive, mildly corny and thats about it. The can wasnt as cool as the one pictured with a polar bear on it - I would have rated it far higher if that was the case. The flavor is light, somewhat sweet and adjuncty, not unpleasant but not that good also. It is kind of just whatever. I’d drink it again if I had to.

Tallboy at Christmas gathering. Pretty decent pale lager and at a great price point, for sure. Pale yellow with fizzy head. Nose is a bit corny though not overly DMS. Some booze and some malt. no hops. On taste, pretty inoffensive, perhaps even pleasant. Pretty standard beer, though.

The best part about this is the awesome new can for "Mountain Brew Beer Ice," with it’s slogan "A very cool brew!" followed by an odd series of tiny boxes of little stickmen playing various sports. I couldn’t figure out one of the sports, but I think it’s double dutch. The stuff inside was fairly standard macro, with plenty of corn.

24 oz can from Grocery Outlet( were else!!)..Salem
says 5.5% alc.
Im not even going to attempt to pour this i will drink it as nature intended!
Colour..the cans nice!
Aroma..sour corny, cardboard..you get the picture.
Taste is nt that bad really..better then the aroma..but basically a corn based cheaplager..no hops .
Palte again not bad for the style..pleasantly carbonated at least.
Overall a cheap beer that you can gulp down if ice cold.
99cents a 24 oz can
