1.3 AROMA 3/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 3/10 PALATE 1/5 OVERALL 4/20
UPDATED: MAY 20, 2012 99c for a 24oz. Yellow rich swilly appearance. Aroma is like peanut shells, fingernail polish remover and urine. Rough bitter palate. Tastes like the machinery it was processed within, or the nether regions of a robotic skunk. Part of me thinks that this is the first batch of beer they make after cleaning everything.. thus resulting in mega unintended adjunct. Not recommended in the slightest.

24 oz can, served ICE COLD, natch. Nose sweet and faded, lightly malty with light hints of corn. Pours clear orange-golden, much richer and oranger than regular Genny, with a rocky white head. Looks good! Taste is sweet and lightly malty, very one-dimensional, no hops or bitterness, but a soft medium body and only a little metal coming mainly in the finish. Slight corn, no breadiness, and a touch dirty, but there is individual character here to set it a notch above the average malt liquor.

Fr0m a tall can this p0ured a deep yell0w b0dy with extremely lively bubbling that fed a 0fty head that c0llapsed very sl0wly. The ar0ma had a vague light sweetness, and little else. Quite oily 0n the t0ngue. It tasted 0f a metallic sweetness with a metallic bitterness and a mildly sweet aftertaste. Gassy. This pairs well with sh0ts 0f cheap B0urb0n.

First of all the price point of the Genesee beers very low end so the beer should not be compared to a micro brew. Like all Genesee beers this has a solid flavor, not unlike a Schlitz, PBR. It has no real aroma and I canít tell what color it is in my Rose Bowl plastic cup, but it tastes OK cold and over all I would buy it again. It goes down good when I am thirsty.

For some reason, I have a tendency at the end of the year to sample something that I have very, very low expectations for. When I spied this at the cooler of a gas station, I thought it may fit the bill nicely. 24 oz. can of blah is what I expected. Happy to say that this delivered on many of my expectations! Poured a medium to slightly deep gold - the color you usually find in a very old, light struck light lager. But this was canned. Fizzy head died immediately. My confidence in the expected outcome of the purchase continued to grow as I sniffed the beer - corn and hay. Flavor was corny malts, a bit sweet, and just the faintest hop bitterness to balance things out. Have to say that this was not atrocious. I have had far, far worse beers, and this did at least have some character. But the character present was rather dubious.

Beautiful looking pour in my Founders snifter. Splashy lace. Really sweet grain, honey, corn. Taste is almost bad meaty/garbage like, really bizarre. The sweetness is not like the nose. This is pretty nasty.

24oz can. Clear golden color, thin off-white head. Couple bits of lace. Soft, moderate strength carbonation, with a sharper texture. Lightly dry finish. Corn, bready aroma, some metallic. Light acidicy bite, but itís mild. Taste is light sour, moderate bitter. Kind of biting, with a terrible aftertaste. Kind of vomity in the finish, but the front is not bad. The finish numbs the mouth. Overall, not as bad as expected. Reasonably drinkable. Great for chilliní on the porch.

3.1 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
UPDATED: OCT 7, 2013 Presentation: It was poured from a 24oz can into a pint glass. Its abv is listed at 5.5%.
Appearance: The body has a clear golden hue with a tall white head. The head fades quickly to thin wispy layer that leaves a little light lacing at the top of the glass.
Smell: There is really not much here at all to note. It has just a very light and simple cereal grain nose.
Taste/palate: For an Ice Beer this one has a very modest overall flavor. I get some corn cereal and pale grain flavor notes with some light mineral and alcohol notes in the finish. The palate is lighter than most ice beers and overall it slides down quite easy.
Notes: Overall itís fairly clean, light and dry.

Consumed at room temperature, because thatís how I roll. Aroma: Semi-sweet cereal and... toast (lightly so)? Some fruity esters, maybe pear. Appearance: Transparent copper pour (pale lager, eh?) with quickly dissipating white head. Flavor: Mostly sweet cereal, but not candy sweet; Genny Ice terminates a little on the fruity side. Palate: Medium body, thick texture, lively carbonation, abrupt finish. Overall: Not too shabby; good cookout beer on the cheap. 1.35 for a 24 oz. can.

Can shared by Bobby. Clear straw pour with a soapy white head. Nose is sweet grain, corn, and rice. Light metal, some apple, and a touch of grass. Flavor is more of the same. Soap, grain, corn, and rice. Metal, apple, bitter grain husk, and water.
