Pint at Gentle Bens. Smaller head than I expected, it looks like an Orange Julius, opaque and thick. Served with lemon. Not bad, taste has a lot of banana and a little clove, it looks thick and tastes thin. It’s more sour than sweet, no bitterness. Not my favorite hefeweizen by a long shot, but drinkable.

(Draught) Pours a cloudy golden body with a small white head. Aroma of banana, clove, and banana. Flavor of banana, vanilla, bread, clove, grain, and lemon.

UPDATED: JAN 10, 2012 On tap at Barrio Brewing. Pours a cloudy yellow orange with little head, sever with an orange. Aroma of wheat, clove, German yeast, citrus, banana. Flavor is similar with lots of spices, fruits, and a bready malt backbone. Tastes like an authentic German hefeweizen. Not overly sweet or spicy, quite bready too. Good hefe. 7/4/8/4/14 (3.7/5)

on tap as part of the sampler pours hazy orange with a medium white head. Aroma is very strong banana and doughy malts. Flavor is bready malts with a banana and fruity estery finish.

Draft at the pub. Slight banana, slight clove, hints of peppercorns, and wheat. Exactly what it should be just not as full on in the flavor department as it could be.

[Tap] Pours a light yellow color with a distinct haze to it. A small amount of white head. Spice and yeast in the nose. Some clove, sweet fruits and esters in the aroma. The taste was a bit more bland. Wheat malts, light spice, hefe yeast and lesser amounts of fruit. Watery and thin body was quite disappointing. Grainy and sweet in the finish. The aroma was so promising, but the actual taste left a lot to be desired.

on tap at barrio 4/5/10. hazy sunshine yellow with a trim white head. the aroma is loaded with banana... along with clove, vanilla, dusty wheat and earthy coriander. there is initially a note of rubber which quickly fades. the flavor is akin to whole wheat banana walnut bread... a bit too sweet on the palate which doesn’t ever completely dry out... wheat, naners, cinnamon, clove, coriander and toasted walnuts with a light spiced bitterness on the finish. medium body is slick but too sugary... 7/3/6/3/14/3.3

Draft@ Barrios. Clear yellow color/ white head. Spicy clove, peppercorn aroma with mild tart wheat. medium body. Very mild clove banana flavors with grainy wheat malt grist. decent.

Pours a cloudy straw color from the tap with an off-white head of foam. Reeks of bananas and sun tan lotion, and features a very mild citrus flavor to compliment the wheat. Not a winner.

Sampled at the brew house in Tucson. Aroma was very sweet which was expected from a wheat wine. Appearance was very light. Mouthfeel was smooth and flavor was a little tart but very nice. Worth a sample.
