JorisPPattyn (4216), Antwerpen, Belgium Jun 20, 2007 Toweringly huge off-white head over pale amber beer with a reddish shine. Vinous, discreet jumble of fruitaroma’s, faint old wood, fruit- and lactic acid(s). Sweet fruit taste, with a very surprising flavour of incense and old wine. The cherryflavouring, unfortunately, is not really convincingly natural. Yet it is not bad - just too sweet. Pretty well-filled for an intrinsically light beer. There’s a velvety, oily texture. For the amateurs of sweet kriek, a pretty decent, artisanal sample. I hesitate to use the term ’stepstone’, but maybe, this... omhper (9956), Stockholm, Sweden Aug 2, 2006 [Bottled] Cloudy dark red. Balsamic cherry aroma. Medium sweet with soft mouthfeel. The fresh cherry flavour dominates this beer. The light body and restrained sweetness makes it nicely drinkable. A good one flavour beer, but I’d like to see it drier.
