Papsoe (10236), Frederiksberg, Denmark Feb 11, 2008 (On tap) Clear, amber golden with a small, off-white head. Lightly grainy malt aroma. Fairly light in body with lightly sweet malt and caramel notes. High in carbonation and almost no hops. Your standard bland Kiwi Draught. 020208 highlandlad (1200), Sydney, Australia Oct 24, 2007 The brewer makes heavy play of the fact his Pure Draught has no added sugars, which makes me wonder what’s in this. It’s sweetish but pretty bland. Copper coloured with a fair head. The brewer sure isn’t big on aroma hops - it was a struggle to find much to sniff here. Bit sour, bit uric, very basic. Probable adjuncts. Soft palate. Faint caramalt and adjuncts in an underdone brew. There seems to be a market in New Zealand for watery, lightly-flavoured lagers, and this fits the bill. Metallic tasting with little or no finish. Pretty crap. BIG malty aroma, malt tatse, reminds me of my mum giving me malt extract when I was younger. Thin body. Is bronze in colour with no head.
How our palate matures. :)
