Amber with a thin head. Some caramel and maltiness fairly sweet. Decent drinking beer. Not as bad as many of the reviews

Had a couple pints at the Ace Hi Tavern in Golden. Easy to drink, pretty decent for $2.25 on tap at a bar. Hopefully it was brewed just a few blocks away but who knows.

Aroma is grainy malt. Flavor is caramel, musty grains, ever so light spicy hop. Flavor is much the same. Better than light beer.

Well, I will take a fat tire over this anytime. Decent color, decent taste, not much flavor.

tap. Amber red with small head. Bland red ale with crystal malt and light hops. Below average for the style.

Reviewed from notes. The appearance had a dark red body with hints of copper, white creamy looking head and lacing that sticks to the glass. The smell was super malty with light bland apples. The taste was malty, apples come back but in a bland way. On the palate, it sat about at a light, sessionable, bland aftertaste and finish. Overall, I used to really like this beer, but these days I really donít see myself ever having this again.

UPDATED: FEB 22, 2014 Bottle. A- Sharpie markers, alcohol, malty, coffee. A- Amber color, hazy liquid, minimal head. T- Coffee, chocolate, creamy, malty, slightly sweet, slightly bitter. P- Light body, milky texture, average carbonation, flat finish. O- Odd aroma. Quite malty and thin but a decent flavor. Not really sure how I feel about this one. Not a favorite, but not horrible either.

A nice slightly better-than-average amber lager. Aroma is a faint light maltiness, maybe a little roasty accent. Appearance is an interesting amber red color befitting the name, not much head but good lacing. Taste is a simple but pleasant maltiness with a mild hoppy contrast. Unfortunately it seems there also is some distracting adjunct sweetness present. Medium bodied, not filling. OK, I'll try this again sometime. ---Rated via Beer Buddy
