As far as American macrobeers are concerned, this beer is one of the best offerings. However, it tastes pretty much like a slightly beefed-up Coors. Decent on tap with bar food, but otherwise, buy something else.

One of the most overrated beers iíve ever encountered. Itís a clear example of a macro brewery trying to brew a micro beer.

UPDATED: APR 10, 2010 not bad. caramel taste, but not too much. probably was great before coors got ahold of it.

For cheap beer Killians is hard to beat. I think I can actually taste carmel malt in it which suggests that the color may be derived from something other than food dye. For the money I think this is a good beer. I used to get it on tap at a bowling alley I went to (cuz itís better than Bud) and I still have a soft spot in my heart for it. Not a world classic, but better than the other ímacro-swillí out there!

UPDATED: SEP 10, 2011 Draught @ Hooters: This one pours a clear amber color. There was almost no head on mine. Aroma is kind of non-descript. Some faint malts and also some faint roastiness. Taste is OK, but very unexciting. Some caramel malt sweetness. Maybe a touch astringent. Pales in comparison to what a good Irish Red should taste like.

This beer makes me wish I was Irish.
