clockworkmecks (43), Michigan, USA Mar 28, 2007 I found it to have almost just the right flavor. The color is actually pretty much to the medium I like to have it at, and hey it doesn’t smell horrible either.
BlockBrew (48), West Lafayette, Indiana, USA Jul 5, 2008 Amber red color. Agree with burnt flavor which had hints of rust. I don’t really enjoy the metallic character of some red lagers. Cybercat (364), USA Jul 4, 2008 I had this out of a jockey-box arrangement at the Mensa AG in Denver, CO. Color is a nice reddish-amber; the sample I had was rather foamy, but this may be a result of the manner in which it was served. Aroma was weak but malty and just a little hoppy. Flavor was pleasing, malty with some hops, not complex but OK. Texture was smooth. Fine for parties. mar (466), Dallas, Texas, USA Jul 1, 2008 red amber pour with no head due to the frosted glass. malts and random spices not eh nose. not bad on the palate with a good smooth malt flavor that turns into a spicy finish. azlondon (456), Greater London, England Jun 30, 2008 Appearance: Redish brown. Very little head.
Aroma: Fruit and hops. A bit burnt.
Taste: Hopsy and malt. Hoppy aftertaste, some fruit.
Info: 355ml bottle, 23/1-2007 jmw141 (66), Canton, Illinois, USA Jun 29, 2008 12oz bottle pour. Pours clear orange with streaks of red throughout. Head is small and gone within seconds. Aroma of sweet malt. Not too much flavor except for a little sweetness. Little to no hops detected at all. Finish is watery with no bitterness and only very very slight dryness. I needed something like this to get the nasty smokiness from an earlier rauchbier out of my mouth.
