3.2 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Bottle-- nicely black pour with a dark tan head. Roasted coffee in the aroma. Taste of coffee and bitter chocolate, the finish is a bit thin. Not bad. Total Wine.

3.4 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Wilmington Island, Ga - Kroger Supermarket - 12 oz bottle. Dark brown pour, off white head, light lace. Aroma has some hints of coffee, bits of licorice. Full-bodied flavor with black coffee notes, some unsweetened bakerís chocolate, a touch of licorice and a finish of topsoil. Mouthfeel is thick enough. Pretty solid for a mainstream stout.

3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
8/25/13. 12oz bottle thanks to PorterPounder! Black pour with a decent tan head that cuts and laces okay. Mineral water, toasty bread, and chocolate float across the nose. Chocolate flavor, a touch of ash, creamy, a tiny hint of fruitiness. Not bad.

3.9 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20
A really great dry stout that will not get the ratings it highly deserves because of is pedigree. Pours nearly black with a hint of red. Stacks up a fine tan head with oodles of lacing. Aroma is chocolatey with some hops peeking through. Far more flavorful than many other Dry Stouts, this one delivers a nice chocolate powder flavor with an underpinning of hops that carries through into the aftertaste. Not complex, but highly drinkable. Medium bodied, but lacking some creaminess.

3.3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Pours coffee black with a thin tan head. Aromas of coffee and chocolate. Flavor is basically the same, lots of malts and coffee beans. Decent brew to say the least and highly drinkable but nothing amazing for the style.

2.1 AROMA 3/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 9/20
UPDATED: MAY 13, 2014 Weak as expected.. Still holds a nice coffee/ chocolate finish with a balance of bitter and sweet. Good for a layed back setting where everyone is drinking from bottles instead of glasses.

Aroma smells strongly of chocolate and taste is a bit bitter for a stout. I prefer the Irish red.
