2.5 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 9/20
Itís nice to see a new Irish Stout coming out, but when you notice it was made by Miller/Coors, you know you are in for a let down. This was, of course, the case. Tastes fake and sub-par.

4.3 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 20/20
Hard to understand the low rating this has gotten (probably a bias against it being a Coors product).
This is a solid beer. Pours beuatifully with a thick and creamy tan head that lasts. Nice roastiness...not overdone like so many craft/micro products; same with alcohol content, just right. The body is well worth noting too...great mouthfeel and very much like a true stout should be (again, as opposed to most other American examples). Only thing missing (but not a deal breaker) is the characteristic sour tang such as that exhibited by the benchmark Irish stout, Guinness Extra.
All in all, this is great stuff at a realistic price. Iíll buy this over almost any other American made stout. Itís that good.

1.6 AROMA 2/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 2/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 8/20
Bubbly in an unpleasant, almost gritty, way. Smokey bitterness ruins the flavor. The only positive thing I can say is it was cheap - $5.99 at Meijerís.

4.1 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
Really enjoyed this, more chocolaty with a lesser coffee flavor than most Austin or Colorado stouts, and comparatively little or no bitterness. Overall sweet toasty malt, good palate and overall flavor. Good price point.

3.3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Bottle from 7-11: Poured a dark black liquid with a creamy layer of foam head. Nose is delicate with minor scents of roast coffee and melted chocolate like malts but then there is scent of sour yeast that lurks in the background. The drink has a decent roastiness about it but then there is also a lactic sour milk taste as well which Iím not sure what to think about. Good price for a sixer so no serious complaints about this.

3.2 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20
Bottle. Better than I expected from Coors. Black pour with thick beige head. Light aroma, cocoa, coffee. Flavour isnít malty enough, but still not bad with the chocolate and coffee. All over the tongue flavour with a good malty finish.

2.9 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 12/20
Light aroma of cocoa nibs. Black appearance. Carbonated chocolate and roasted caramel. Overall, very simple, not much to it.

3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
Bottle: The aroma consists of chocolate, caramel, burnt notes, roast, and light coffee. It pours a dark brown with some orange highlights and a one finger tan head. There is some thin webbing left on the sides of the glass. The flavor starts with chocolate, caramel, and faint fruit. The finish has some burnt notes, roast, and light coffee. Itís medium bodied with somewhat lively carbonation. Overall, itís not world class, but itís much better than I anticipated.
